Can't believe they don't even include a full steering wheel for that money.

...I can see Porsche following suit.

Not that random as it crossed my mind too :-)

I can't help but think this is far too vulgar for an Aston. It reminds me of the Aventador all edgy and not in a good way. Aston's should be a bit more sophisticated and this just doesn't suit the brand imo.

I can't help think; if the only way Aston Martin can get to the same performance figures as other manufacturers is to keep increasing the capacity of the engine, it might be the wrong approach.

Overall, this just doesn't float my boat.

...but I increasingly find that Aston's oddities ( not letting anyone drive the One-77, the "new" Lagonda only being available in the Middle East, the Cygnet and now this ) are damping my enthusiasm for the mark
+1

Although I don't wish to be too unkind, there's just a whiff of the grotesque about it all: hints of the older women with excessive plastic surgery in Terry Gilliam's "Brazil" or the ill-fitted makeup of The Joker.

Of course we all understand that luxury and performance are different today. Globalisation and changing lifestyles have forced the traditional marques both up and down the product ladder in search of relevance. But Aston Martin's decisions are, I dunno, making it more of a quixotic gem.

Not a fan of the styling at all and seems a bit of a 1/2 arsed effort being track only and no road model being produced.

Also think with the same tyres a standard P1 would muller this on track despite being road legal and £600k cheaper...

Think a lot of folk have missed the line from the Autocar review that it will be 'SVA ready'. that indicates that it has been developed to be capable of use on the road, and all necessary parts to make it road legal are there! how is that half-arsed?

I miss the days of actual real-life photos being released. Odd given that they often look much nicer than the renders.

I'm going to wait a while before rating this as I've just read the article on the new Jensen and have been looking at Interceptors in the classifieds. I don't want to rate the Aston unfairly...

I am damn happy they are not following suit...

Sir your choice of engined supercar:
- a 3 litre, 6 cylineder twin turbocharged engine that requires acoustic assistance from hifi to hear and returns 40mpg
OR
- a 12 cyliner naturally aspirated dinasour, that will make your ears bleed and have people note your arrival at the Dorchester before you get close to Mayfair.

Stunning work Aston, I think these Halo models are great for any brand, just for raising interest.

Pistonheads New Aston Martin Thread Simulator(tm)

Car looks similar to previous Aston Martins:

PH Forumites - "Yaaaawn, soooo boring. Why don't Aston do something different for a change. All their cars look the same!"

Car looks somewhat different to previous Aston Martins:

PH Forumites - "Yuck! I don't like that at all. It's so ugly and its pandering to <foreigner du jour>. Why don't they just stick to their successful formula."

There. That should save us all some time in future if we just paste that in as the first post.

You'd be happier with the 4.0 V8 TT AMG in there then?

I was just about to post something similar!

There was me thinking poor old Lotus got some stick for the Evora 400, but some of the posts on this thread make the Lotus-dissing look amateur.

Looks brutal!

Reminds me a little of this.

I also see a tiny bit of Dave Ellis's 70'/80's monster yellow V8 in it......Perhaps in taking Aston designs to extreme.

I can't wait to hear the tails from the first rich person to bin theirs when they get a bit of an "arm twirl" on, and go to grab the missing bit in the wheel......... ;-)

Except for the fact this engine probably actually makes the performance claimed for it, and probably does so for more than about 3mins before it s**ts itself..........

The outside styling is great. The interior is not to my taste however, i.e. what is it with the massive central bar? Is that necessary?

Anyhow, would love to hear that V12 scream.
