Guys, appreciate its a Saturday, been on hold for nearly 20 minutes trying to get through.

Just tried to purchase cover on your website, however its thrown a php server error just after I submitted the payment. In limbo now as to whether payment has been taken or not.... don't really want to try a second time!

All sorted, got through to a lovely lady who confirmed everything has actually gone through smile

You may want to take a look at the payment error that happened, the web link it appeared on shows as:

https://www.secpay.com/java-bin/MPIValCardPart2

And the error displayed was:
FPDF error: Cannot open /var/www/vhosts/ala.co.uk/httpdocs/app/includes/../../pistonheadsgap.co.uk/pdfs/pistonheadsgap/blank_policydocuments/schedule.pdf !

Hope this helps!

Took out one of your policies on my leased Qashqai, so pleased you've signed up to PH. Will shortly be doing another for my Defender - the dealer quoted me £724 for a 3-year GAP policy. rofl

Hi Katie,

I'm looking at your tyre cover, and I was wondering whether this would include things like nails in the tyre, and if they do get replaced, are they a like for like, or a budget brand tyre?

Many thanks

Hi R2T2

Thanks for the question smile

The tyre policy does cover damage caused by a nail in the tyre, as well as damage from other road debris, kerbing, pot holes and malicious damage.

If you need a replacement tyre then we would be looking at replacing the tyre new-for-old, which means that we would never replace a premium brand tyre with a budget tyre.

I hope this helps and if you would like any other information please let me know.

Thanks,
Katie

Do we need to have owned the car for less than 180 days for just the tyre cover to happen?

Hi R2T2

If you're looking at the Tyre insurance without the GAP cover, but have owned the car for more than 180 days, the best thing to do would be to contact the office to purchase the policy. It would take us around 5-10 minutes to process the order for you.

The office number is 01653 916304 or you would be more than welcome to use my direct number 01653 916301.

I hope this is OK and doesn't cause too much inconvenience. Please let me know if I can help with anything else smile

Thanks,
Katie

Just rang ALA seeing if they would beat a quote from another provider under their "Best Price Guarantee" and was told (very politely) that they couldn't because the competitors price was too low.

I suppose this is some new meaning of the word "guarantee" that I'm not familiar with...

Hi Katie,

I would like shortfall insurance, but, Im covered on my companies motor trade policy, I'm a named driver. The car is in my name, not the business name, and it will not be used for business purposes.
Is it still possible to get shortfall insurance on my car please.
Thank you.

Hi oilandwater

Thanks for your enquiry smile

If the company motor trade policy pays out the retail value of your car in the event of a total loss, rather than trade value only, then we would be able to provide you with GAP cover.

If you would like a quote or any other information, please let me know.

Thanks,
Katie

Just bought a brand-new car, got significant discount (through Drive The Deal) and I am financing a VERY small amount of the total price, which GAP would be best?

I had GAP cover with ALA for my previous brand-new car.
