well thats uglier then the previous gen
What he said - that looks like the old car has gained a bit of weight and is squinting...

Audi will sell loads tho - there's a sucker in every dealer...

There's a A6 Estate in the local dealer right now in Baby Blue - yes, really, Baby Blue - it's not for-sale, it's a customer car - and yes, it's EVERY bit as hideous as you're imagining - only worse...
So far, if I really wanted an r8 I'd buy the previous version. This one won't be remembered for its looks. Lets see how it drives..

Like the interior, but I think the exterior is a small step backwards. Looks less special to me, and more connected to the rest of the range.
+1 I am dissapointed with how unimaginative they have been.

And we call Porsche designers lazy. I think this would make a hard spot the difference compared with the old model.

No mention of a V8? Although we do get buttons twice smile

Pages and pages of banging on about how it looks!

600 bhp NA V10 that revs to 9000rpm. End of story. Bloody brilliant that Audi is sticking with such a gorgeous engine.

(It is a chavvy mess and I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole for that reason alone, but that's just taste. It is objectively a brilliant piece of car-making and should be applauded).

no doubts that using the V10 should be celebrated but the design is at best a bit meh at worst just lazy

but thinking on it they have a dilemma, the R8 in all realities is just a re-skinned and re-trimmed lambo so the easiest way to make the cars distinguishable is to make the R8 look toned down / constrained

That make a lot of sense. If you want to look flamboyant, buy the Huracan. If you want to be more subtle, buy the R8.

So they had a good long hard look at the amazingly positive reaction to the styling of the i8 and decided to go for boring repetition. Strange decision.

Can't see why people criticize the rear which looks pretty cohesive to me, when the front is a complete dogs dinner of different angles, gapping holes and slant eyed lopsidedness ..........a mess if you will. But overall, not exciting as Italian machines but quite nice. In my humble opinion.

Here is what the New Audi R8 Spyder could look like.

from the article:
Independent artists RM Design and X-Tomi Design decided to chop off the roof of the New Audi R8 to turn the coupe into a Spyder.

Another corporate faced Audi. Looks like a big TT

It's st. No doubt the usual talentless saps will lap it up though.

Personnel preference, hate fixed rear spoilers, bolt on or bonded. At the money you would have to pay that spoiler should be fully tech controlled.nono

It's a fat blobby dull looking car. I'm sure it'll sell in shedloads.

As you say, personal preference. I certainly wouldn't want the weight of a load electric motors just so my spoiler can go up and down. smile

Mind you, I don't want most of the other electric motors they've no doubt filled it with, either. hehe

For me it's still one of the best looking super cars , sadly the dealer experience will be ordinary and if I am buying a £100k plus car I want to feel I am well cared for , something most audi dealers don't do.........This is what stops people buying this car

You may have hit on something there; they sell a lot more TTs than they do R8s. Why not make the TT buyer feel like his car is a close cousin to the flagship by making the flagship more like the TT?
