I know this is a bit of a "form over substance" comment, but if I am dropping £60k plus on a car, I really would rather it look a bit more exciting than a family estate, however brilliant it may be to drive

As a company car, the new C350e looks tempting with 290bhp and 49g/km of CO2 meaning only 5% BIK.

On the contrary, I think it's brilliant that it looks almost identical to a diesel C-class adorned with AMG body kit parts. The only giveaway is the burble when you squeeze the accelerator, and I love that.

I've always been more of a BMW fan but the M-cars are getting increasingly shouty with their design language and the subtlety is lost. Not to mention piping fake engine noise through the speakers.

Although the sat nav in this C-class interior is particularly horrific.
I think it'd be great to have the choice of subtle or bodykitted / wide-arched versions. That way everybody's happy. smile

590 PS and 602 lb-ft of torque with ECU Upgrade

Very impressive. These cars are going to make some serious power after some other tuners get a hold of them.

From the article:
From showroom floor, the V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo beast of an engine produces 476 PS and 479 lb-ft in the Mercedes C63 and 510 PS and 516 lb-ft in the Mercedes C63 S, but DTE-Systems is willing to raise these figures through a plug & play ECU upgrade benefiting from multi-map technology. After the software upgrade is implemented, the Mercedes AMG engine is puts out 590 PS and 602 lb-ft of torque.

The engine development engineer is on record saying it will easily produce 700 plus without any issue. He wouldn't say just how much just said as it's two a45 engines just double that engines output to get an idea.

It depends how far you want to go as any power you want is there. Larger turbos equates to 800 hp. Not for me though

Lovely, BUT you won't be able to deploy that power effectively on to the road, I can't in my car with 560hp and 500lb/ft.

The wheels light up in 1st and 2nd and 3rd and you get TC intervention at over 90mph in the dry in 4th, so I say what is the point?
