RE: SOTW: Reliant Rialto 'Dodgy Charger'
Discussion
Blimey - SOtW threads are getting like the Top Gear thread.
If people don't like the content, they seem to take it as a personal insult... How dare the car not be to my exact liking and specification.
Weird.
Personally, I think this is ace.
No everybody is 'compliant', some people like to have a bit of a laugh.
(I wouldn't drive it though)

Has there ever been a closed-circuit racing series for Robin Reliants / Railto's? Not bangar racing, but proper racing events at say6 brands hatch, or mallory park, or cadwell park?
I'm just wondering at even the feasibility of taking one of these around a track at "high" speed
Are they always doomed to fall over? Can the falling-over be engineered out?

Yes it can be entirely engineered out, Reliant themselves brought to market one that didnt fall over, some seriously clever engineering went into this.I'm just wondering at even the feasibility of taking one of these around a track at "high" speed

I suppose you could fit a couple of large stabilisers at the front I'm just wondering at even the feasibility of taking one of these around a track at "high" speed

This isn't bad - a bit of fun that's all.
I'd drive it for sure and when I'd got fed up with the stares etc I'd return it to its original colour.
Not a bad shed, easy to keep and work on - dead cheap to run - a talking point.
Its two fingers up at all that's wrong with DRL's,white paint, the latest tdi and such like.
I like it a lot (said in a Dumb and Dumber style)

I just wanted to let everybody out there know that the owner of Dodgy Charger has actually donated it to Classiccarauctions .co.uk to raise money for the Mercia MS Therapy Centre in Coventry. The first auction takes place next Tuesday the 3rd at Silverstone Race Circuit in the pit lane and is being opened by Quentin Willson. I think everybody should get behind this little car, its for a great cause and hats off to the owner for being such a charitable sport.
