Is this a joke?
A little bit of lacquer/paint has peeled away and it's corroded a bit? Nothing a bit of silver paint woulden't fix.
It's an elderly persons car, so probably had an easy life (check the clutch though).
Not my cup of tea...but if you're aged 60+ it's a fine car.

To be honest it looks worth a test drive at that price.

Just to point it out, 'alloy' and 'aluminium' are far from synonymous.
I know, I've studied chemistry. Hence why I thought it was rust considering various alloys contain iron. Apparently I was still stupid to assume this.

Really if minor cosmetic problems put you off and you dont know about cars then get something nearly new with a warranty or a bus pas as youll end up buying a shiny looking fked money pit. A <£2000 recent car that looks mint is a minefield as if it was low mileage well looked needed nothing after and cosmetically perfect they wouldn't be giving the thing away for sweety money would they? So it either looks nice but worn, looks crap but solid or looks fked and is fked.

That Civic for £1200 looks alright barring major mechanical issues. IDKC you're going to have to get it out of your head that there are immaculate low mileage FSH cars for little more than a grand.

Looks like rusty dust deposited on the wheel, quite likely originating from a rusty brake disc.

1[maybe 2 in reality]owners,MOT till 2016.

Worth a look if this is what you're after.

One alloy with damage isn't a valid reason to completely dismiss it.

I think the OP means that many alloys contain iron. He is not aware of what car wheels are made of; it is not a topic in all chemistry courses.

To be fair, alloy can rust, steel is an alloy, just the terminology isn't used properly when it comes to cars.
