I'm going to be leasing a stand alone workshop with a small yard. There have been occasional break ins over the years. I'd like to put up barbed wire at the top of the 3metre fence. Owner is happy for me to do this but is it still legal?

I don't want to get sued by some thieving toerag who has cut his hand or ripped his bo***cks off.

Edited typo.

not sure on the legality, but if going to the effort of putting sharp things in place, I would very much be looking at razor wire.

Garden and back yard walls lined with shards of broken glass used to be commonplace on rougher estates up here. You never really see that much these days.

Is that actually likely though. I've heard "stories" of it happening but never actual proof a scummer actually winning the case. I could understand if pointy stuff was at eye level or on the floor, but if it could be argued the thief/burgular was taking the risk themselves it's surely their choice and therefore their fault if they get injured.
