Here's a few 'during' pics from his Instagram if anyone is interested, not sure who is doing it but they are based in Scotland. Apparently someone called Ian Mitchell from Wildcat Automotive messed up one his early prototypes

What about a prop between the two axles?
We have a winner. So 6 x 4 then?
Yep, 6x4. They've used another Defender rear axle, hence the diff, but there's no way to connect it up. Where "real" working 6x6s have been done, then either there's a second nose needed on the back of the mid axle, or the axle casing is flipped, the diff goes on the other side and is driven from the PTO.

But since it'll probably bend at the first sight of a grass verge...

I also don't think "aftermarket" actually caveats against what I said, I certainly stand by it. It is an abortion of a vehicle, and I cannot disagree more with anyone who says this man is a car enthusiast given he spends his days designing things to ruin them. Inside a warehouse filled with people who look like they should be the discovery program called "the garage", he's there hacking away at things real engineers pain-stakingly designed. Then rolling them in Swarovski crystals.

Frankly if you own one of these you should have your DSS payments stopped, your Burberry cap set on fire, then be sterilised. With rusty garden sheers. It's a piece of scrap which pushes no frontier except by which to demonstrate the incredible stupidity of people regarding their adoration of brands, and how expendable income in no way correlates with intelligence or class.

Finding idiots to sell crap to under the guise of producing a brand, doesn't make you an entrepreneur, it's been done a million times before, it makes you an oxygen thief. If this is the way of the industry, or subdivisions of it are heading, count me out. I'd rather be seen getting out of a sheep.

I have never seen anything stylish or remotely attractive coming out of the Kahn 'laboratories'. Not even an after market alloy wheel. I also consider I am a person of decent taste and as a result I'd get really cross when I saw their ad's in magazines. So how is it they are so successful? And who is it who buys the tat they produce?

I really would like to know and understand as this just leaves me totally flummoxed.

I hear what you're saying - however I've always found their 'conversion' of the JK Wrangler strangely compelling.

Would I buy one? If I had Lotto win type money - probably. getmecoat

I'm inclined to agree. As a vague generalisation, everything I see from that place is horrendous (flying Huntsman included). However, that chelsea Jeep they produce is a guilty pleasure and I sometimes kick myself when I see a pic of one and like it smile
Not sure I'd reach into my pocket for one, and if I was in the market for a rugged looking thing like that, I'd go for a bowler or Twisted Land Rover, but it's still head and shoulders above anything else I've seen from them in my eyes

There seems to be a real move towards customised Defenders these last couple of years.

Lots of companies spring up doing modified cars, the most obvious being Twisted.

I can see the appeal of them, however my only experience is with 3 boggo Defenders and they weren't exactly great to drive.
Best was a V8 series 2 pick up, which was hilarious in a st way.

My question to those who have tried these types of modified Defenders is are they actually decent to drive?

That's my thought, but you see people sinking serious money, £40k plus into them.

Then you see a Chelsea Jeep in the flesh and realise that despite being "showroom fresh" the exhaust trims are on wonky, the badges aren't quite straight and basically anything that's been added by Kahn isn't quite 100%. At least on the 2 examples I've seen on the road anyway.

If you're going to fanny around with a Landrover and you have more money than sense then surely a Bowler EXR S makes a much stronger statement than something with a couple of extra wheels? If you want more wheels buy a DAF truck.

No doubt it will have some astronomic price tag attached to what is nothing more than a very dubious cut and shut. Is it spelt Huntsman with an H ?
I noticed Mr Kahn was interviewed on a tv show together with his Bugatti, registration number F1. He had the nerve to somehow liken his company to Pininfarina but managed to fail to pronounce the PF name correctly. And people still buy these types of vehicles…more money than sense IMHO.

TBF, only one of the v8s drives the Mille Pattes. The other v8 drives the truck tyre being tested inside it.
