take a look at the build pictures. notice anything strange about the rear axle (somthing missing)
Take it you are referring to the rearmost axle looking like it has no diff. Look again, as I think you can just make it out below the crossmember but am happy to be corrected.
What about a prop between the two axles?

Looking at that picture, there won't be much ground clearance under the driver if the front and rear set of wheels encounters anything offroad!

This is a "flash" motor - looks over function, surely?

More of a show car than one with any 'go' methinks.

The central axle will be the tricky one, that needs to be a 'portal' type with an output shaft on the back to drive the rearmost axle. From the images it looks to be a bog-standard diff in the centre there.

Perhaps this was mid-development. Or, perhaps more worryingly, the rearmost wheels will not be driven. In which case...haha!

I wonder how much testing companies like Kahn do when they modify vehicles.
If its anything like where I work; little to none. If it shows signs of doing what you want, its straight out the door being sold.

One of our club members did a few of these conversions - he supplied the 6x6 vehicles for the Expendables 2 movie.

They're quite capable off-road, particulary on soft ground; getting all of the axles to drive (reliably) caused him a few headaches.

Here's one of his first ones..

I wonder if the extra 150mm width will be used to address the classic Defender failing of having sufficient shoulder/elbow room? Also - will they be widening the axles (or just using massive wheel spacers)?

Ah yes, I've seen those - didnt he end up using a second transfer box in the end to make it selectable drive and avoid winding up the transmission?

No - the width is just bodywork mouldings attached to the doors. I strongly suspect they will also just use spacers - to widen an axle is a massive, massive amount of work even for a proper company, let alone a 2-bit "styling" operation

I don't think so, I seem to remember a prop between the rear axles - however it's been quite a few years since I studied it and I can't recall for sure - I'll ask him next time I see him.

A few Carmichael 6x6 Range Rover fire tenders had a simple through-prop but it used to wind up the diffs. I'm pretty sure that when I read about this one, the drove to the back axles went to another T-box that split it to middle and rear axles, but I may be confusing it with another similar vehicle

6 x 6 Land Rovers are nothing new. Various companies like Foley and Reynpolds Boughton have been converting Defenders for years. Carmichaels in Worcester were building 6 x 6 Range Rovers in the 1970's.
Carmichael were 6x4 with an undriven trailing axle.

Never mind the engine swap, the biggest thing here is the widening of the whole vehicle. Is this a genuine sideways stretch or just a body widening using more screw-on plastic body panels? Don't let the 3 wipers confuse you, this is an old Land Rover mod which has been around for years.

Will it actually be 6x6, there's no direct mention of this is the press blurb. 6x6 Defenders have been made in the past and it's not a straightforward job, especially with the rear axles so close together.

Lastly has anyone told Kahn that the Defender goes out of production at the end of this year?

It's likely that Defender production will continue, just not in this country.
