Yet another niche product that takes a bunch of target markets and fails to hit all of them
edit: just realised. It's actually squarely aimed at those people who really love open-top buses but would never be seen on a bus. Bingo.
So you think this won't sell many? Women will love this st and they won't be able to build them quick enough.Yet another niche product that takes a bunch of target markets and fails to hit all of them

It's probably going to fill the exact same gap that the 3 Series convertible filled in the 80s. dapearson said:

That's lovely. I'd change the wheels and am not sure I'd be able to carry off the cricket jumper under jacket look but what a car!As for the Evoque why is everyone getting so uptight about a car company making a car that lots of people will buy? Isn't that the whole point of a car company?
PH are not the target market for Land Rover ....

I dont see the problem, it looks sort of ok and is a logical extension of the Evoque model range, I am not sure why Orange Women from Cheshire and their purchasing decisions are so inferior to PH'ers, they arent into cars in the same way, like we would not choose the correct gym, tanning salon, nail bar, hairdressers, Clothes shop, gastro pub, oil fired cooking machine etc etc
I hate to say it but I suspect they are, as a rule, happier with their wheels, they buy it, drive it, don't fk about with it, don't worry about a new one until the lease is up, send it in under warranty when it breaks, pay a polish man to wash it and do not worry about which is the best sealing wax, they get new tyres and don't agonise about the brand or whether to buy winters, they dont worry about tenths of seconds to sixty as it is plenty fast enough (its "nippy" you see), they dont bother with crumbly old stuff that breaks down, they dont yatter about it endlessly on forums, too busy playing Bingo most likely.
Sometimes I do wonder who the daft ones are.....
I dont want an Evoque but I just dont see why we are so scathing of anyone who chooses a well made, desirable, well equipped, economical, fast enough, comfortable, reliable product whilst we drive some right old rubbish, stuff that makes you piss blood that has a climbing frame in, stuff that deafens you, and pretend its the height of petrolhead nirvana, stuff we think marks us out as a connoisseur, maybe it does to other car beards but the rest of the world just think, well, nothing.
I bet secretly the Evoque is probably more enjoyable in every way than a 20 year old MX5, or at least 95 percent of the time it is. I don't think Cheshire mummies are worrying our our choice of wheels but quite enjoy their Evoques.

Quite probably all true......
I'm sure many people mock cars like this on PH just to fit in with the crowd. The Evoque doesn't appeal to me in the slightest but the sales figures say that JLR are right and we're wrong. IIRC in the UK last year more Evoques were registered than all models of sports car combined. Edited by kambites on Tuesday 3rd March 09:10
As long as you can fit the shopping on the backseat there is a sunglasses compartment/ holder and a designer bag rest on the centre console
It will fit in just perfect down the meadows car park aka Marks and Sparks/ tesco
This thing will be everywhere around the camberly area very soon

Good to see JLR continuing their brand prostitution with yet another product for fkwits.
Be big in Aus then. Also, convertibles aren't that popular here.

If it was a German car, a lot more people would be trying to defend it.
The most important thing about JLR is that each product sold in the UK is one less German utility vagon being bought. And let's face it, if you are buying a product to promote that you are wealthier and a superior human then why these people have been buying minicabs for the last decade has always bemused me.
