Really? I'll have one then. biggrin
Not convinced it will, but fingers crossed as it will make it more appealing and thus a greater sales success. These pics are from Geneva 2012, so perhaps the production version has changed.

That's the 2+2 seating which is an option on the coupe. I'm sure they will offer both that and the regular 5 seats.

Mine's waiting for delivery next week of her 430d M-Sport, white with 19s.
Does this fit with the stereotype? smile

(She's not orange at the moment)

I love Land Rover, I really do, but this is a horrible vehicle. There are a couple of good points, however:

1. JLR will undoubtedly sell loads and thus make lots of money to make more SVO goodness.

2. Tasteless buyers, Kahn, Hamann etc. will lavish their attention on this, leaving the regular car for normal people to buy without being labelled a chav or WAG.

A vast improvement in rear visibility...

How many people will we see folding the roof down to reverse park one of these?

Typical PH comments! This car is not really designed for the uk market and will sell hardly any over here.
I'd say it's totally designed for the UK. We are the biggest buyers of convertibles in Europe, and as we all know, it will appeal to a certain demographic in this country and will sell in big numbers.

Not my cup of tea though.
It'll sell like crazy here in the west coast of the US as well. Both to beach loving Southern Californians and to us sunlight starved Pacific Northwest residents (where the climate is pretty much identical to central England) who don't want to miss out on ANY sun we can get.

Boot aint gonna be terribly big is it. Its hardly carnivorous in the hard roof version.

I think its a bit of a daft idea - the whole attraction of the hard top is it looks modern but chunky. This doesn't really hit the spot for me, but will wait to see it in the metal. smile

I dont see the problem, it looks sort of ok and is a logical extension of the Evoque model range, I am not sure why Orange Women from Cheshire and their purchasing decisions are so inferior to PH'ers, they arent into cars in the same way, like we would not choose the correct gym, tanning salon, nail bar, hairdressers, Clothes shop, gastro pub, oil fired cooking machine etc etc

I hate to say it but I suspect they are, as a rule, happier with their wheels, they buy it, drive it, don't fk about with it, don't worry about a new one until the lease is up, send it in under warranty when it breaks, pay a polish man to wash it and do not worry about which is the best sealing wax, they get new tyres and don't agonise about the brand or whether to buy winters, they dont worry about tenths of seconds to sixty as it is plenty fast enough (its "nippy" you see), they dont bother with crumbly old stuff that breaks down, they dont yatter about it endlessly on forums, too busy playing Bingo most likely.

Sometimes I do wonder who the daft ones are.....

I dont want an Evoque but I just dont see why we are so scathing of anyone who chooses a well made, desirable, well equipped, economical, fast enough, comfortable, reliable product whilst we drive some right old rubbish, stuff that makes you piss blood that has a climbing frame in, stuff that deafens you, and pretend its the height of petrolhead nirvana, stuff we think marks us out as a connoisseur, maybe it does to other car beards but the rest of the world just think, well, nothing.

I bet secretly the Evoque is probably more enjoyable in every way than a 20 year old MX5, or at least 95 percent of the time it is. I don't think Cheshire mummies are worrying our our choice of wheels but quite enjoy their Evoques.

Why has it got a pre facelift face on it though
That is the pic of the original concept. It looks as if they have waited for the facelift and new Ingenium engine before deciding to launch it. It will find a market in the USA - and in the UK too.

Forget the mummies, I'm quite enjoying my Evoque...

...oh, and my MX5. Perfect combo.

Statements like these always puzzle me. I have been driving an Evoque since Christmas and I find it to be a massively capable car that can take whatever I can throw at it. On road and off road it does everything I need in a daily driver.

Rear visibility is no problem whatsoever on the Evoque.

This is a great thread. People actually seeming to get angry and resentful about a car that doesn't interest them and isn't being targetd at them.

I've never seen a Nissan Murano Cabriolet, but that was the obvious comparison so glad someone posted its pics. Out of curiosity, I've checked ebay and they don't depreciate as much as regular vehicles.

I would gladly drive one of these Evoques as my main vehicle. AWD and higher stance you get from a sport ute, convertible top for a few times in the summer. Land Rover and Jaguar don't have a vehicle that fills this niche. The convertibles are sports cars and the AWD vehicles are hard tops.
