I cant help but think that Bentley have a bit of an image problem these days. It seems to be the choice of car for the Footballers, Wags and tasteless new money (i am incredible richer than yaw) set.

Chavtastic in my opinion. Its awful.
Christ, getting a bit fed up hearing this line being trotted out, because a few footballers have been pictured with a Bentley this automatically makes them tasteless and chav. How the fk does that work, have you ever actually driven or spent time in a Bentley, the interior is one the best crafted and tasteful in the industry. Its a beautiful place to be, the styling is also probably the most understated of in any car of the class, no crazy vents or gouges in the side. No massive splitters on the front and rear, the sound it produces is a low rumble rather than a screaming cacophony of noise that you can hear for at least a mile before you see the car. The power is seamless, it does not rock you back in the seat and induce whiplash every time you accelerate or break, the delivery is smooth, yet incredibly powerful, likewise with ride, supple and no jarring.

In short, it is everything a GT should be. In my mind many of its competitors seem to have lost the concept and meaning of GT, that being Grand Tourer, and stick the label on cars that would induce major medical issues on all but the shortest of journeys

Still, a footballer bought it so that makes it crap and tasteless. Yip, the idiots guide to car reviews.
I don't agree with about the interior. The Skoda satnav lets things down somewhat. It doesn't take much to put a software mask on it to make it look bespoke, but they don't. Those airvent buttons/plungers are comical, and the rest of the switchgear appalling. All this was in the new V8-s.

Luckily for Bentley, the target audience don't really care. But as said, they are very chavtastic these days.

Those that call a Bentley chav, can you provide a list of cars the footballers Wags and tasteless new money don't drive?

And these days you can't come out with the cop out answer of Bristol.

I love it!

Is it just me, or is there a real steampunk influence on the design: copper, stainless steel, leather, wood.

The cabin in this car is gorgeous. And classical. Inspired perhaps by particular cars and boats of the pre- and post-War eras.

Conversely, steampunk is a form of satire: it takes the classical and warps it. This car is none of that. The true cultural references of steampunk are also quite a bit earlier than the the pre- and post-War eras cited above. Steam and all that.

As with all concept cars, this is a wind up. Especially in the interior department. Nice though.

I never knew that about steampunk. It makes a bit more sense if it's meant to be satire, I guess...

Elements of the Spyker interior are almost impish in their embrace of steampunk principles.

The Bentley interior is opulent. cloud9

What do you call a person that calls a show car blingy. I know it is not a footballer as he is likely to fall on his face if he tried to run and kick something at the same time.

Since when has a Spyker interior been risible?
Since...

...and a miscellany of other crimes against taste and ergonomics.
As I said, on forums maybe. Absolute motor show gold though. Not to mention I love those interior, ergonomics be damned.

The front reminds me of the Spyker C8, not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.
But this car is too Aston Martin, I think. And when it's too much like something else - it stops being itself.

yes

Got to love Bentley's craftsmanship and everything, but their front fascia imho is something only a mother can love these days.

I really don't envy the designers, looks like they designed a beautiful car, on which they then had to craft some "family face".

In other words, BOBFOC.
