Any car suggestions; budget £17k, 0 to 60mph sub 7 seconds?
Discussion
Lots. Subaru WRX STIs are now appearing in the dealer network for under £17k. I know, I just bought one. Less than two and a half years old but high miles for the age.
You'd also get into something like a BMW 335i if you wanted a bit more in the way of creature comforts, previous gen Golf R, all sorts at that money. What else do you need the car to do/be?

You have £17k to spend on a runaround/weekend/hoon car and a new Fezza is suggested!
(And he would prefer an auto)
Ye Gods!
Not saying its a good car but OP's criteria is pretty wide.
You can get ....
M3
XKR
M6
SLK 55AMG
Cayman Tip
996 Tip
Boxster Tip
for the same money.
Yers they will cost more to run but something like the Boxster or Cayman won't be ruinous.

Golf GTi DSG
Would be perfect but auto trader hasn't got one fast enough, 0-60's seem to be in 9 second range First one I clicked on, 0-60 in 6.9 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2015...
edit: that's a manual, but 0-60 for the DSG is the same.

How about a BMW 125i or 130i
Nice straight 6, RWD, good fun...
