You have £17k to spend on a runaround/weekend/hoon car and a new Fezza is suggested!

(And he would prefer an auto)

Ye Gods!

Not saying its a good car but OP's criteria is pretty wide.

You can get ....

M3
XKR
M6
SLK 55AMG
Cayman Tip
996 Tip
Boxster Tip

for the same money.
Yers they will cost more to run but something like the Boxster or Cayman won't be ruinous.
I'd be interested in a 2012 M3 DCT for £17k. Got a link?

The cheapest 3 year old XKR on autotrader is £38k.

I think you've misread the OP.

ST1 starts from 17,395, obviously some discount is expected, but you'll be doing well to get an ST3 and mountune kit at £17k.

Without privilege discount of course.
It's just a fact you can get a ST3 for 16.5k, many have done it already.

Yep, DTD have the ST3 at £16187, so £16500 with metallic paint sounds about right.
