So they've admitted it's still not as good as the Fiesta ST? Despite being the sporty version of a hot hatch?

I am. What are the stats for just the UK I wonder? I still can't recall seeing one on the road.

It does sound like it has been substantially improved underneath, though it still looks incredibly ugly!

So it revs 300 rpm higher than before. Ok, but have they got rid of that BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP noise that reminds you to change gear?!

Imagine the horror of a 6 grand used clio 200 t then the box dies yikes it's scrap
This is actually very true.

Why on earth has the Megane got a manual and not this? There should have been a manual in this facelift. 20 more meaningless BHP? Renaultsport was never about BHP. Yet again another company suckered into competing with the Germans. A shame, as traditionally Renault make much better drivers cars than 80% of manufacturers.

Peugeot..RESPOND!

According to DVLA figures, 457 RS EDC CLIO's registered up to the end quarter 3 2014 (latest figures that are available).

Just wait till you get the next RS Megane with an auto box. Almost willing to put money on it.

So no possible R version even though 'leaked'. When will pricing be announced and numbers expected? Wonder how many 'normal' RS200's will be sold between now and June and the effect on used values...

As the article implies: calling this a special edition "Trophy" is just wrong, these are revisions that should be rolled out to ALL 200 EDC models rather than making this one different to the rest!

To paraphrase Jimmy Carr, they've rolled a turd in glitter.

No matter how hard it tries, this car isn't a race car, a GT, or a Supercar. It is a hot hatch, and the whole idea of the hot hatch is to put a smile on the drivers face.

Can Renault please just admit they got it wrong and move on? If they look in their back catalogue, there is plenty of inspiration there to make another truly great hot hatch. A decent manual gearbox would be a great start.

Why don't they just call this a revised version or 2015 or 2016 version and why continue to sell two versions - surely that will just cost more to produce two versions at the same time?

The problem with not seeing many out on the road is the fact they look the same as the standard lower models. Its only after a double take or closer look that you can tell what it is.

Doubt it. They have a dedicated factory in Dieppe for the RS versions. Just a matter of bolting on a few different bits on the production line. The cars have always been built to order anyway.

Pretty much the same with all the hot hatches these days. For example ... would most people notice the difference between a stock 208 and the GTI derivative?
