Its a step in the right direction any Trophy should have a diff. But if it goes as well as they say, it will be pretty good. Good on RS for listening, just need to sort the lights out and a diff please

You saw a 172 or a 182, Trophy was only in Capsium Red, and they made 500 for the UK, and 25 randomly for Switzerland.

There 374 on the road left according to howmanyleft.co.uk, and I've got one of them and hopefully will never sell!

On the new "Trophy": simply not special enough. Needs crazy motorsport parts that are incredibly expensive to maintain and impractical for a car that does high miles, just like the original!smile Also like other similar classics like the 968 clubsport and the Megane R26 it was also stripped of all toys, and reverted to poverty spec. I love that the rear seat on my Trophy is a 1.2 campus bench seat, for example - just to save weight!

No issue with them making obvious suspension and engine improvements and I'm sure it will be a vast improvement on the original, but "Trophy" should mean more than that!
I'm sure the 'Trophy' is nice to drive and will go up in value, as they're already worth about twice what the equivalent 182 Cup is.
You've just mentioned a decision I don't really understand about it though. They only mechanical difference is the front motorsports dampers, that cost about the same to rebuild as getting new performance suspension. Maybe they are really good, but it's a bit costly when you can buy a Trophy for about £5K.

Why didn't they just give it an LSD and stiffer suspension, like every other ultimate performance FWD road car ever made? Someone must have got a load of Sachs dampers off the back of a lorry, or was getting sales commission. biggrin

Bit of a thread resurrection here but I was googling "Clio Trophy" and having a nosey about what people were saying about it (had mine since Jan).

Re: the White trophy, you're correct. They only come in capsicum red. I have met the owner of this car and can confirm that it is just a normal Clio Cup which he has sprayed white (he does this for a living) and added red "Trophy" decals. I'm not in favour of making a car look like something it isn't, but he is a decent lad (refurbed my wheels and did a good job)
