I guess there is a time in life where you stay put and fashion moves on without you, a little like when you see Tweenies in low cut jeans and pumps with no socks and think you look a ****.

Anyway I fear automotively my time has come, I fear that it is not longer my iconic car, Sat Nav, Auto, launch control this, traction that...its just not what I really want anymore, I was lucky enough to own a 996 RS and its just not the same passion I feel towards the new car, and it should be............

I know it's not at all important, but it having a lower rev limit than the GT3 is a little annoying...even the new R8 can rev higher.

Shame no manual but that car is fecking porn. First Porsche I've seen in the 991 range which is desirable and relatively fantastic value to boot. Gorgeous car. Want!

Hi there,

Focused on the RS because that's the big one for the show reveal - nothing of note was announced ref. Cayman beyond what's already been said. See here! Saying that we're driving the Cayman next week so there WILL be more on that car very soon!

Cheers,

Dan
What's the point? Every car has been snapped up by either a speculator or wker type who'll store the car in his heated and climate controlled garage. I only know of one enthusiast who's managed to get one of these and he placed his order a year ago.

If I ever see a GT4 on track, I'll make a point of buying the user a beer.

Needs some graphics IMHO to stand out from the "normal" GT3. Might be almost too subtle in a dark colour.
Take your pick...

I used to see an orange 997.1 RS on my daily scooter commute into the city centre, and whenever there was an open area, the owner would open the taps and scream by. Was the only 911 I've ever seen been driven even slightly enthusiastically. That 997.1 RS in orange with std factory graphics became my dream car. This one i'm lukewarm about for some reason. Not sure whether its the electric steering, the lack of graphics, the "mere" 50hp increase since the 997.2 or the 100hp deficit compared w/ the 458S , but it doesn't give me that 'fizz'.

Curious what is actually fashionable for tweenies to wear? I thought jeans and pumps with no socks were still in fashion but then i'm an oldie with no fashion sense at all

Wonderful motoring icon that it is, but will the basic '911' shape ever be dispatched ?.....I've got high hopes in the future for the underling Cayman S4 or whatever it's called.

Oh don't get me wrong they haven't ended they have just changed, I think i'd rather have a quick comfy four door car for the 6.5 days a week and something like a GD T70 for the high days and holidays, I guess I really do like and crave the compromise when I'm in the mood.

That the order books are closed for the Cayman GT4 is a bit annoying really, it's the kind of car just about within my reach but with a lot of sneaky man maths and demanding of many other stars to align but it would have been possible this year. It doesn't bother me that the 918, P1 etc are limited, they are so far beyond anyone as lazy as me as to be as irrelevant as this forum.

Is anyone else ticked off with this kind of smug commerce? Maybe I should grow up and put my wonga just a few miles down the road into an Evora 400.

We send thick people to university now as social engineering, so I think it's only fair we should be allowed to buy GT3's, GT4's too!

You won't get points for a gross lack of judgment (I don't want to get banned) like that you know.

Still haven't answered my question about the jeans + pumps thing not being stylish. (Unfashionable) enquiring minds want to know! smile

Hmmm - those slats make it look very 'Mansory'. There we have it then; my era of Porsche has passed. That's kind of relieving.

Look forward to getting hold of a tasty 'old' RS in a few years, and giving it a thorough spanking on track.

Great car. You have to give credit to Porsche: This car probably costs 1,000 Euros more to make than the GT3 but they sell it for 50,000 Euros more. They are the masters of this.

But if I'm honest, I'd still take a 997 GT3.
