Just HAS to be Maritime Blue. This pic doesn't even do it justice. Such an incredible Pastel Pastiche, it really shows off the cars contours perfectly....
FFS!! You all know what that means!... Google it if your vocab doesn't stretch that far. Pastiche: "work of visual art" What I was trying to say, for those who can't be bothered to use their grey matter, is that the colour perfectly shows off the cars lines. In simple, it emphasises the distinctive lines of a 964 perfectly.

What a silly thing to do on a forum. It is because I 'have a vocabulary' that I do know what a pastiche is and it does not have a positive connotation! If you want to really know what it means then read beyond the first line in Wikipedia, you wally.Baryonyx said:

Pastel pastiche, what a dire phrase!Wind your neck in.
A pastiche is a work of visual art, literature, theatre, or music that imitates the style or character of the work of one or more other artists. Unlike parody, pastiche celebrates, rather than mocks, the work it imitates.
In simple terms, that a fellow with your vocabulary and grasp of spoken English can grasp: it's a copy.

No wonder you have so many posts... This is your 5th post on the subject of 'what colour' and still no mention of "COLOUR"from your good-self. I thought this forum/ thread was to be proactive and help the op with some positive input??
I think that he should avoid any situation where he has to rely on his wits.

If we were being really picky there are several suspect uses and exclusions of the infamous apostrophe, but since this is a forum about cars and not about vocabulary, please both pipe down. To make up for going off on one please each post up a picture of a 964 in your favourite colour immediately. He he
Mine was with my post

Maritime was a Porsche Motorsport hue which was available, special order only. A few years back, was lucky enough to own a 944 S2 in Maritime. In pictures the colour is awesome, in the flesh it is somewhat understated but shouts motorsport. Also, being a pastel shade it greatly emphasises 'curves' which is what you want methinks. Do you know someone who can do a decent wrap in pretty much any original Porsche colour then?? As my GT Silver 997TT could get the Maritime treatment if its available...

Most decent wrapping places use the 3M system which apparently has perfect colours.
DOn't know where you're based, but the company that detailed my car - 'Midlands Car Care' do very good full vehicle wrapping, might be worth giving them a shout of you're near the Midlands, if not I'm sure there's plenty of places that use the same system.
Edit to add: This may be use, there's a colour selector, and 'wrapper' finder: http://solutions.3m.co.uk/wps/portal/3M/en_GB/3M-/...

Thanks for that, my folks are midlands based so that is very helpful! (from five days ago) I prefer Star Ruby / Rubystone. Couldn't get it on a 968 so I opted for Maritime Blue which was unpopular (in marked contrast to now, when everyone loves it).
The Mint, Riviera & Maritime cars above all look quite different to their actual tone - Id suggest seeing them in the flesh as blue is notoriously difficult for digital cameras to deal with. You only need to Google Maritime Blue to see the range of colours depicted; from powder blue to purple-blue.
