Best 964 RS Colour?
Discussion
Hello there
I just sold my 996 Turbo in order to "go aircooled" and in the next few days am off to pick up a nice little 964 C2 tin top.
I'm rather excited, of the 55 odd cars I've owned including various 911s, this is one of "those cars" I've always always wanted.
Anyway, following in a long line of good examples I'm going to continue where the last owner left off and rather fancy doing a few nice tweaks to make it more "RS touring" than bog c2 standard. There is a lot to say about whether a car should stay original, but this one has already had some changes (KW suspension, a few other bits) and going backwards is not my thing so I plan to move things forward on a budget.
She is looking a bit tired paint-wise, and I am no fan of guards red (yawn) so I plan on either full respray or possibly a vinyl wrap to see what I like. I'm also looking at new wheels over the 17" cups.
I can google for the whole day and I just go round in circles.
So........
What do you think is the best 964 RS colour? Or to broaden it out, what is the best Porsche colour for a 964 in general? I've always liked Riviera Blue, but Viper Green looks nice too. Wheel combos are also not 'off topic' either!
If you have one please let me know why you think your colour is best! (Pics welcome of course!)
Cheers

i thought that was ruby stone

i thought 964 RS's where in the 200-300k price range now at auction?
Yes 964 RS and RSR are fetching daft money. I don't have that sort of wedge hence why I will be hoping to make the c2 look "RS spec" without the vast price tag. A bit lighter, more purposeful suss and some tweaks here and there, maybe a half cage....anyway the correct colour is ruby stone

Thanks Dave, me too. I thought I might be rounded on for daring to suggest "another" RS replica, but the maths makes sense. They are climbing, their performance can be improved and with not an awful lot of imagination they can become very fun cars (so I'm told). The above are Mint green, Riviera Blue and Maritime Blue...
I had a 'slate grey' 964 C4 that had been slightly modified (lowered, hot film conversion, chipped) but still kept the back seats and was amazed how I kept up with a proper 964 RS at a track day.
I digress, it was a lovely colour (if a bit of a serious colour) but something bright and cheery like Viper Green is the order of the day.

I prefer Star Ruby / Rubystone. Couldn't get it on a 968 so I opted for Maritime Blue which was unpopular (in marked contrast to now, when everyone loves it).
The Mint, Riviera & Maritime cars above all look quite different to their actual tone - Id suggest seeing them in the flesh as blue is notoriously difficult for digital cameras to deal with. You only need to Google Maritime Blue to see the range of colours depicted; from powder blue to purple-blue.
