I seen somewhere recently that there is a minimum advised speed to get a ticket and to face prosecution.

I believe it was something like the speed plus 10% plus 2-3 mph before a ticket is issued.

Is this the law or can police prosecute at even 32 in a 30 etc??

Before worrying about that 10% just remember their speed measuring equipment is a lot more accurate than yours.

If you dont want to get nicked drive at the posted limit according to your speedo

there are acpo prosecution guidelines

they are not the law, you could be prosecuted for any amount above the speed limit in theory, but despite cash offers to some of the recent people claiming to have been done for lower speeds in various threads in speed plod and the law, no one who's been called out has delivered the goods

Your speedometer should over-read by a few mph, so when you think you are doing 64mph, you are actually doing 60.

This varies depending on the vehicle, but since it's illegal for a speedometer to under-read, manufacturer's normally put in a little bit of headroom.

Yes, i was just wondering about the actual speeds that people get prosecuted for, would be pretty unfair to be prosecuted at 31mph, speed can increase without realising especially in sports cars
