my oponeo order arrived today

well 3 of the 4 tyres arrived, not sure where the 4th is, the 0800 on oponeos website just rings and nobody answers

on a plus point the date codes are 48/14 so almost new rubber

negative point the parcelforce delivery driver was very rude and was very angry and telling me off for checking the tyre wall codes before signing for the delivery

he was very busy and I had no right to check my item before signing for it - that was his attitude. So ive sent off an email to the Parcelforce CEO to complain

not oponeos fault

Parcelforce have labelled each tyre as a seperate delivery so im sure the 4th will turn up at some point not sure where in the country it is though as i have no tracking number for it!

I must admit, this was my only concern when I ordered my 4 from Tyreleader and had them delivered directly to a local garage ready for fitting.

I hoped they had got my order right when the garage phoned to say they'd arrived (they're staggered sizes). I assumed the courier just plonked them off the back of the wagon and drove off as soon as possible, and it's hardly the garage's job to carefully check the order before letting him go.

Luckily, it was all good though.

Tyreleader look very reasonable for prices.

Might use them for my next set. Just got to decide which ones I want.

I have used Oponeo a few times and have been very happy.

However they did once deliver tyres of the incorrect size (not what was ordered).

They were incredibly efficient in sorting the problem out, arranging the tyres to be collected the next day. I was offered a refund or a second shipment of the correct tyres. I chose a refund because it suited me at that time to cancel the original order.

It was all agreed with no issues at all. I was very impressed with their efficiency in sorting things out.

Another thumbs up for tyreleader.

Saved over £100 on 4 Goodyear Eagle F1s compared to the usual blackcircles etc...

However... the tyres for some reason arrived in 2 separate deliveries. Both on the same day and both quickly but just in 2 different vans about 7 hour apart - no idea why.
If it was DPD that delivered them it's likely the second delivery missed the trunk connection at their hub, hence being delivered later in the day on a second (or third for that matter!) run.

I've used Tyreleader a number of times, I had two tyres delivered within 2 days of ordering (despatched from Germany), and then two weeks later ordered 18 tyres for our work vehicles on 27th December. All 18 arrived in one delivery on the 30th December. In both cases the tyres were at least £30 cheaper than anybody else (all excluding fitting), so it was a bit of a no brainer. I've yet to find a company that deals with a problem as well as expected, most if not all are frankly a bit st!

Had experience with Tyreleader, and there after sales service is very poor...actually non existant!
Indeed.

Fine until something goes wrong.
Been waiting 10 days for my tyres. No email saying there is a delay or a reason for the delay. No tracking number sent either. Contacted them this morning said they would have to look for the tracking number(s). Obviously the money was taken on day 1.
By some weird coincidence after 4 requests from customer service a tracking number has appeared. The Tyres are allegedly still in Germany. No holding my breath on this one.

Total and utter Crap. Not the usual German Efficiency. Expect someone will be shot at dawn.

I just want to warn people of something here.
I've contacted dpd on facebook now who have confirmed they have received no request from tyreleader for an investigation to be taken place whereas tyreleader are saying that they are waiting for the results of an investigation to refund me or to send new tyres out and have been doing so for the past 2 weeks!

The exact same thing has happened to me.

DPD have allegedly lost the tyres so they've requested an investigation.

I'm going to request a charge back from Capital One.

update on my oponeo order:

my 4th tyre appears to have been lost somewhere

I have 2 seperate tracking numbers for it, it was last tracked 2 days ago leaving Carvin-France (100 miles from Calais) and hasnt arrived in the UK

Ive been told to be "patient", giving these all left France on the same day and 1 didnt arrive in the UK I think im being more than patient

Looks like Oponeo, Tyreleader etc are all as crap as each other

I can agree with all that has been said regarding Tyre Leader. Great until it goes wrong. I ordered 4x tyres, 2 turned up within 3 days, the other 2 were lost. 2 parcels could be tracked on DPD, one obviously delivered and one lost somewhere in Germany. It took a week of emails back and forth to convince TL to send new tyres straight to me and instruct DPD to return to sender if the lost ones were found.

All said, I would use them again but only if I wasn't in a big rush for the tyres. Prices aren't to be argued with.

I'm impressed so far with Oponeo. Tyres arrived today and all okay.
I'm still waiting for the wheels but emails answered promptly in good English and call centre seems okay.

I go to my local tyre shop.
Last tyre I bought was about £10 dearer from them, but saves all the agggro with online stuff.

I've always found very little difference between the price at the local tyre place and online. Unless there's a huge saving I prefer to support the locals and avoid the potential hassles.

The only time I've bought online I needed a less common size. At the time they seemed to be available only from Hankook, and the local guy couldn't order them.

I think you're right to an extent. However I wanted some wheels so ordered the tyres from the same place. The wheels alone were £250 cheaper, with tyres I reckon the whole bill was around £300 cheaper.

That counts as a huge saving, but my local tyre shop definitely isn't Kwik Fit. smile Independents seem to do the best prices.

Understood. Different for a wheel and tyre deal.

Ordered two fronts for my GT3 - 235/40/18 Toyo R888 from Oponeo on the 3d March for £260. Was kept updated via the DPD tracker and they turned up at home today. DOT 45th week of 2014 so effectively as new as they will get. Demon Thiefs have them at £220 each! So, Oponeo gets 5 Stars from me...
