Thanks guys, greatly appreciated.

Just to cheer you all up, we put it on a rolling road a few years back and chickened out at 178mph!!!!!!
The noise was unreal, we genuinely got scared!
0-60 was around 4 seconds, it easily out lifted a ferrari 550 off the line, done it on several occasions!

Great days.

Thanks everyone!

Off to the pub to drown my sorrows.

Cheers
Mark

The thought has occured to me that the scroates who actally nicked it had no idea how distinctive and rare the car is, how much it's worth, and the publicity it's generated. So the possibilty that the 'relationship' between who actually nicked it, and who's got it now may deteriorate. Falling out amongst thieves, someone may give the game away ?

Hard to believe that two cars drove past not noticing an old Landie sitting in the smashed window of a well-lit showroom!

Mark, really hope you get your car back soon.

Hope it turns up soon.

I remember years ago some scrotes nicked a very distinctive drift subaru from a show although they were stupid enough to drive it around birminghams various ringroads and motorway although thanks to the online coverage it was found within a day or two.

Lovely car and that's gutting that it has been stolen

Assume that it is insured so that at least if you don't get it back you can source a replacement and build another to the same spec

Probably the most beautiful Escort I've ever seen.

Why the hell have the thieves had their faces blanked out?!?!

You'd have to wonder if they hadn't been in scoping the place out along with the car. Tossers.

Cant believe how much interest and support this has had, seems the British public love a well turned out Escort, some a little too much though...

They completely ignored the Marine Blue 944 Cab to the right though, philistines !

The car is very very unique in the way it is built, welded and fabricated, i have hundreds of pictures of every single nut and bolt.

Hopefully something will turn up.

Bump to first page. I've added a pic on Instagram and I have a fair few petrolhead mates on there. I'm so pleased this is getting the publicity needed to hopefully get it recovered and the scum brought to justice.

Pedant mode - it is maritime blue not marine blue.

Why would the police blur the photos of obvious suspects in a crime? I can't see any reason that should happen, surely they want help identifying them.

Hope the car turns up soon in a good state.

Again thanks everyone - due to everyone on here this story is reaching every corner of the country and beyond - i truly feel i will get my car back, you are all amazing - thank you.

Everyone on this site has been incredible, such huge support, huge efforts of help, encouragement, spreading the word on social media that i have no idea about.....its just unreal - THANK YOU ALL!!! AND not one single word to slander me or the car - you are all true car that have a passion and live it.

on other sites and news agencies they go for comments like "insurance fraud", "old escort not worth anything" and bullst about a car they dont know or understand, it incredibly insulting towards me and my character - and DAD 422K

here is my comment to all the other website trolls:

Hi Guys, its my car - there is no insurance fraud - i am gutted and want my car back i dont want the money. The car was stolen Tuesday night at 9.20pm, when i finally got home that night i stayed up till 3.30am getting the word out on every social media site and forum i could. 6am the following morning i was up contacting radio, tv and independent news services - i want the car to be found - there is no fraud so please stop the damaging speculation and insult on my character, turn your attentions to more positive activities.

The figures quoted are due to the build and development costs over the last ten years, it is an incredible car built with all the best components available to rally Escorts - it has been continually developed over the years. Prepared by Prepfab, just call them and ask how much for a race/rally prepared shell - be seated and be prepared to be shocked, engines to this specification can run into tens of thousands. This is not a boy racer built in a shed, its a very serious car with one of the best prepared race shells of any Escort - hence i guess why it was targeted specifically in a showroom with 10 other expensive cars sitting around.

I gave up counting a few years ago, between myself and the original owner who started the project build 10 years ago we have spent over £100k, off the top of my head i can add at least another £15k in the last few years alone. This car was a love and a passion, not built for a profit - when was the last time we ever made our money back on a project car, from my experience i am always on the wrong side of the equation, but it was an addiction. The figuress quoted by the media reflect the build cost and pile of receipts i have, not what its worth if i had to go to webuyanycar!

Thanks to everyone that is spreading the word, hopefully i will get the car back soon before it is stripped and sold, burnt or dumped.

Cheers guys, enjoy your cars and lock them up safe.

Kindest
Mark

We'll spotted, quite correct, am getting my Mazda paint colours mixed up with Porsche ones, Porsche do a Marine but it's a darker, metallic blue.

and about as accurate as everything else in that sad rag - I quote

"The car has a maximum speed of just 100mph and does 0-60mph in 10.7 seconds"

Yeah, right.
I guess those figures are for a standard Mexico??
