£900 for a diesel golf, the cheapest was £150 for a Polo, perhaps my next car will be my first non-shed! (I doubt it)

all of them if they read the op's post
I am the OP, and tbh given the amounts listed, spending £30k+ seems unusual when not using finance?

Why's that brave?
Just seems an awful lot to pay out in cash I guess. Leave me alone, I've spent nearly 10 hours on trains today to look at a car I didn't buy hehe

£1995 for a 1999 Astra SRI. Still have it, have done 45k in 5 years with no major hassle.
Had two free Cavaliers (one gave its 2.0 engine to a Nova).

32,5k (yes, saved up cash) in 2007 for my Dodge Viper. Would probably get that back if I sold it today. Or close to.

£18,300 for my 2007 Cayman S back in April 2013.

Just sold this week though I do not know how much for yet as was dealt with by a dealer.

£14,000 on an Audi TT 225... What I was thinking back then is beyond me but I was very young with a decent wage and living at home! Sold for half what I paid after only a few years and a credit crunch!

Not owned anything worth that much since as I refuse to waste that amount on a second hand car.

However, I have been looking at lease deals as at least you know where you are up front and there shouldn't be any additional costs etc.

£1370 for my current car. Cars in similar condition go for around 3500€ locally which obviously fuels visions of what I could afford next. I certainly didn't expect values to be so strong on skoda's in italy.

What's "finance?"

Is that something poor people get?

Lol. I'm not a powerfully built company director and am poor but never used finance!

When the finance rate is lower than your bank interest rate it makes sense wink

You're investing in the wrong place then.

£16,250 in cash for my TVR.

Most expensive car is my XF, but that's on a PCP. It's a close second in terms of cash payment though - I put a £15k deposit on it and the APR was extremely attractive so I took my wife and daughters to Disney World and bought another little business last year with liquid money instead. I'm sure that makes me a moron in the eyes of the PH jury and I'm probably going to be blamed for the credit crunch - but I don't care.
