Most spent purchasing a vehicle : £21.5k (Peugeot Boxer camper, now moved on)

Generally spend around £12k (cash + part ex) on cars now, up to 5yrs old with less than 50k on the clock & with reasonable expected residual values. This will have to change if I continue lusting after Jag XK coupes though...

8.5k cash is the most iv spent. Cant see me ever paying more tbh. Not with upcoming house, kids, etc etc plus id much rather go on holiday these days and have an older interesting car than new.

Most expensive - £7200 for my current Mazda 3 MPS
Least - £50 for a G reg Sierra I sold a few weeks later for £125

Most of the time I budget between £500 - £2000 for a car but wanted something a bit newer, faster and reliable this time.

I have a new record! £8100 paid yesterday for an E39 M5.
I paid £24,000 for mine over 100,000 miles back, since then I think i've spent more on fuel than the car cost.

£20,000 cash for a B7 RS4 Avant. Sold it a couple of days ago after 3.5 years and 35,000 miles for £18,000.

Slow depreciation, but I did spend a fair bit on it keeping it looking and running well.

Far too much for a new 911 Turbo S with all the toys (I'll let you work out how much that cost me).

First car cost me £25 mind. smile

£10,200 after PX on our 05 Galaxy in April 07. Still serving us well as the family bus. Highest purchase price was £14,495 on my 53 Vectra in March 04 but larger PX allowance. Still own the Vectra also.

£5.5k for my Chimaera

My last few cars have been sub £2k.

My next one is likely to be more expensive!

Least was £50 for a 205 1.6Gti a few years ago. Had been part stripped for a trackday car but the wings were rusted through and it was generally a heap so sold it for £100 a week later.
