The most you have paid for a car?
Discussion
Ignoring the £11k I spent building an R1 Fisher Fury - my car buying budget is usually less than £5k mainly because I don't like flushing money down the bog in depreciation. Bought my current MX5 for £4k, done 40k miles and is now worth £1.5-2k.....I can live with that.
Saying that, I think I'll be leasing from now on as the reasonably hassle free new car option.

£6k for me for a 1991 Mini Cooper S
Hopefully about to smash that figure in the coming weeks!
I'd also be interested to hear the LEAST that people have spent on a car.
£350 for me for a Fiat Uno
It met it's demise one New Years even when I went to a house party (I was about 18) by Coley park in Reading. About 4am someone started shouting there was a car on fire in the street. Excitedly, we all run outside to see this event unfold in front of our eyes - only for it to be my car. Some local chavs had petrol bombed it through the back window.
Fire engines came out and put the fire out. The whole thing was burned out in the back but other than smelling of smoke, being wet and a few melted bits was perfectly driveable. So, I drove it for the next 6 months with wire back seats and the windows down. It never did dry out.

The most I ever spent was £8000 on two occasions, a Jeep Commander 5.7 Hemi and a Mk5 Golf GTI. I'm coming ever more to the conclusion that spending more money on a car rarely increases the enjoyment got out of it, cheap cars are often more fun.
The cheapest car I ever bought was £250 for a Nissan Almera, bargain that was.

The most I've paid is £500 for old Citreon Piccaso, Least I've paid was last week £150 for a Nissan Almera currently stands me at £1.69 a mile including tax If included fuel it wouldn't be much more.
Don't think this threads for me, although in my defence I'm a student and pay for everything myself and having a had series of crap cars has meant I can/need to improve my spannering skills, to keep them on the road.
