£7k on a 3-year old Focus TDCi. Much better value than the £6.5k Seat Leon which followed it and cost me a further £3k over the next 3 years, then sold for £1850.

Current car cost £2600 & since spent £1700 on preventative maintance so I'm still only down £4.3k.

£1500 for a Volvo 850 T5 in 2007.

That's most, not least.

Least paid was £80 for a Peugeot 309 in 2009, although I've also had a few freebies along the way.

Well seeing how this thread is going i'm a cheapskate! (or skint!)

Most Expensive - 1970 VW Beetle £1600
Cheapest - Various free cars (horrible automatic clio, Saxo VTS...) but actually paid for - £65 1993 Ford Fiesta (taxed and MOT!) even gave me £5 off as the door mirro glass had fallen out just before i came to get it!

My first car - £10,000 for a Celica 190. Crazy in retrospect, that was getting towards two thirds of my total annual salary back then. As I've earned more I seem to have paid less, circa £5k for a Mondeo (accounted for by the Celica trade-in), then circa £1k for my Accord V6 until last year £9k for my S2000. I don't like to assume anything about other peoples' lifestyles or incomes, but when I look at the cars that many people today drive about in (even quite dull cars), I realise my notional idea of £200-£250 per month being a reasonable amount to pay for a loan. let alone a lease, is really outdated...!

It would be interesting to find out how much per month the average Brit spends financing their car(s).

Mine was £34,600 on a AM V8 Vantage, went from that to my cheapest car in 15 years (£520 Honda Accord!) and now in a Z4MR, which I am just getting to know smile

£35,000 for an Audi A4 Avant 136 TDI 2011 model. Bought December last year with 41,000km on the clock. You just gotta love Danish car registration tax (currently 180%).

Most was £28.5k for an XFR that I bought a month ago. I think it was about £65k new. The least was £250 for an F reg Micra. It was awful. My friends nicknamed it the shed. Had it for three months I think and somehow managed to sell it for £50 less than I bought it for!
