I suspect the majority of these replies are people who have taken out PCP or a loan, rather than paid straight up with cash from their bank account... so don't really count IMO.

Most I have paid outright with my own money is 7K for my RX8 R3.

It will probably be worth bugger all in a few years and I would have also spent the same amount if not more modifying it...

............ Least I've paid was last week £150 for a Nissan Almera currently stands me at £1.69 a mile including tax If included fuel it wouldn't be much more........
I bought this through a drive to work scheme (bought it from work) the finance package is great £50 a week 0% APR for three weeks. By next week I'll have cleared my motoring debt. I did consider paying it outright to keep my conscious clear, but I thought with this free credit, its the cheapest time to buy a car on finance. Also means I can splash out on coke on hookers while cruising in my absolute babe magnet.

£5,550 on my Alfa 159, before that £800 on a VW Bora.

At that rate of growth I 'should' spend £35.5k on my next car, and a cool £227,150 after that...

Could you not have done some balloon arrangement to get lower weekly payments?

I've never bought a car for myself that wasn't financed in some way.

I did pay cash for the OH's car - £3500 plus her old Ka in part ex.

Most: my current daily hack at £6200. Never had new/ leased or anything.

This was after getting a new job with a big salary lift. Prior to that it was Octavia's in the £2-3k range. I do 30k plus a year in mileage so can't bring myself to stomach the depreciation.

Wants the career slows down and I stop travelling so much I've promised myself something extravagant in the £20k bracket. hehe

+1

10-20% deposits have been put down on each, but I've never bought a car with cash only.
