I like the VW Golf Mk IV, Very Simple and easy to read. Boring to look at but does its job.

I really like the dials in my 208, they are above the steering wheel so are right in the peripheral vision. At night you can dim the lights so that only the speedo and tacho are illuminated similar to Saabs night mode

I also reall like the way MINI's only have the tacho with a digital speed reading directly infront of the driver.

I love the clarity and the simple, uncluttered beauty of the S1 Elise Stack binnacle.

I like the trend that some manufacturers are following by not printing the KM/H speed on the speedometer which makes the instruments even clearer. Its a bit unnecessary given how little its used, and easy enough to show on the screen when required.

Agreed I had a FFRR loan car a couple of years back with this - not sure about the RR, but on some cars the analogue speedo will read either MPH or KMH according to the settings but using the same scale.
In my last three cars, (M5, DB9 and V12V), the digital speedo can be switched to km/h, so I agree that it is unnecessary to have the km/h readings on the dial.

My only complaint is that they reflect on the driver's side window at night. And I forget to check the fuel level before setting off pretty much every journey.

They are clear and simple though, but not used often. It's an older breed of car that doesn't crucify you but provides enough NVH to just *know* how fast you're going and whether you're in the right gear.

I like simple.

Can't get much more simple than that. They've even done away with all the other stuff like doors & windows.
Yes, but it only weighs about 400 gm, so the power to weight is

0 (coz no engine) / 400
= 0 frown

I just wish it had a proper fuel gauge.

Why is the temperature gauge in Farenheit instead of Celsius? confused

You can switch it in iDrive. It's called "UKIP Mode". hehe

S2s have a graphic instead;

I think the earlier S2s are the same, anyway?

Clear enough, but what a shame they couldn't be bothered to put some LCD screens in those round cut-outs which completely fill them (or just used a rectangular cut-out).

Mk1 MX5 has a nice, simple set of dials, just a shame the oil pressure gauge is a pretend one.
The Mk1 has a proper gauge, it's the Mk2 that has the constant gauge.
