For all the normal non company director goatee-wearers who through extreme poverty are forced to paying for their motoring on a monthly basis via a loan, HP or (God forbid) lease type deal, how much do you pay per month, and what's the car?

And do you think this is more or less than the 'average'?

I don't. Never have. If we can't afford it cash, we won't buy until the existing car is only worth it's weight in scrap. Or we get a decent ish trade in. I am 50 ish so it helps that we have saved up over the years. I love cars but wouldn't pay for one on a loan.

Not easy for younger members I know.

yes

Don't pay a penny to finance the cars. Just save up money (the horror).

For three cars, about £300 per month in petrol, £100 in VED, £70 in insurance, £10 MOT and £50 in maintenance.

You'd be surprised how many top end cars (think Ferrari and top level Porsches) are paid by monthly payments and balloon figures

I don't think I'd be surprised at all, I'm guessing that the vast majority of new-ish cars are paid for with monthly payments of some kind.

What seems like a fortune on company car tax.

That and a small tax bill have wiped out my 2015 allowance.

Out of interest, what model do you have?

I find Co cax tax is usually fairly cheap unless you go out of your way to choose something very thirsty and expensive.
