Cyclist v driver litter road rage

Precisely why the country is in such a state. Everyone eyes down, not wanting to get involved and when someone does stand up for (un)common decency they're called an 'interfering sanctimonious prick'.
Still, eyes down, stare at phone, leave bad behaviour unchallenged and then wonder why we're knee deep in st.
So I take it you would quite happily throw litter back through the window of a car thus becoming a law breaker yourself? So your logic would be 'two wrongs DO make a right?'Still, eyes down, stare at phone, leave bad behaviour unchallenged and then wonder why we're knee deep in st.
I'm beginning to see WHY the country is in such a state

Surely all you need to say is "here, I'm just returning your property which you accidentally lost" as you 'gently pass it through the window' so as to not cause inconvenience? stewy68 said:

Any kind of engagement with the sort of arsewipe who throws litter from their car is going to end badly.Record, report and leave it to the authorities - all local councils have departments whose job it is to pursue the pondlife that are turning the place into a giant dustbin.
One thing cycling does do is bring home to you just how much litter there is.

I think that's the crux of it really. Anyone throwing litter out of their car without a care in the world is an arrogant selfish idiot, but there's little point engaging with people like that, because they so often turn nasty. That's the way their caveman like brains tend to work.Record, report and leave it to the authorities - all local councils have departments whose job it is to pursue the pondlife that are turning the place into a giant dustbin.

I was nearly knocked off my bike a few years ago by some prick who decided to turn right from the left hand lane of a junction without indicating (or looking, as it seemed!). I did the wrong thing and raised my hand in the air in disbelief, and the fat bd then chased after me, blocked me in and tried to kick the st out of me to show me "why you dam cyclists get knocked off so much"! It almost always happens and that's the last time I'll react like that. By far the best thing to do when you come across idiotic lunatics is to stay out of their way and not engage with them, no matter how obvious their bad driving is to you. A helmet cam is a perfect opportunity to replay the footage at home, write down the reg number and report the law breaker or dangerous driver if there is one, otherwise just put up with it and try and forget about it. If it's a small mistake, the chances are they'll learn, but if it's a huge mistake or obvious illegality, like chucking a massive drinks bottle out of the window of a moving car, then the guilty party will know they're in the wrong and will likely just get aggressive about it. The cyclist in question here was simply inviting himself to have a fight with someone and I suspect he's learnt his lesson. The sad thing is that the Corsa driver probably hasn't learnt his lesson, but that's the whole point - he's an idiot and always will be.

The cyclist declined and hurriedly pedalled away from the scene
"Oh no, consequences for my actions!"Classic corsa driver though; awful rims, baseball cap, moobs, attitude. If the pedal powered litter avenger had taken him up on his offer for a "square go" he'd have got back in his car and left.
I like how it doesn't occur to the cyclist that pissing off Ned in his Corsa may get him a shoeing.
"'I just thought for some reason in my head I should be confronting this person."
Obviously because a helmet cam makes you into Deputy Pedals.
Ned in the Corsa should be sterilised by the government of course.

Haven't seen the video, but I must admit I did the same to a driver in a traffic jam ahead of me. She threw out an empty coke bottle and an empty soda can, I got out of my car, picked them up and threw them back.
Call me a sanctimonious prick, but keep your fking litter to yourself. If you subsequently want to have a fight over it, you're just a complete moron who can't admit he was wrong in the first place.
"Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing. "
The police not backing the cyclist is beyond me, the driver got caught red handed, then continued to make a scene like he's done nothing wrong, and got away with it.
Remember, if someone breaks into your house, the police's advise is to get out of your house, and especially don't disturb the burglars.
Looks like 80% of the people on here agree with them though.
