Left field choice - Mondeo Mk4 2.5t. Same engine as the Focus ST, albeit with a different map (easily sorted wink)

They go for about 5k. Girls like being comfortable as opposed to harnessed into some group-b wannabe, they sound good, they handle well for a big car, they're practical (chuck all your mates in it and go do whatever it is uni students do), looks are subjective of course, should be cheaper to insure, as no teenagers are currently crashing mondeos into bus stops.

Alternatively, ask the cheap gits to stump up another 5k and get you a Focus RS hehe
Mondeos are fantastic cars, I have two!
And if you are genuinely looking to impress people (as in, demonstrate to them that you are a sensible adult with a sensible care and not a silly boy racer) then that is the way to go.

I had my first Mondeo aged 18, and it is amazing the difference it makes at that age, you are viewed as an adult and nobody is nervous of your driving etc.

Of course, there are other cars that can achieve this.

I'd like to see the insurance premium on that.

Why waste a nice car though, you're bound to write it off and something like a Corsa won't matter too much.

I can get a 220SE insured for less than a new Corsa, quite rediculous I know! The mustang is out of the question now though because of the mpg

Fair enough, in fact I applaude you for wanting something different! Tbh I think walking would be better than a Corsa! hehe

God it makes my choice of a Ford Docus sound so boring, but I've loved them since I was a toddler! smile

Let us know you get on.

If you are willing to spend £15k on a car you shouldn't care about mpg.

Here's what you do; You lay down 10gs on this '13 plate ford fiesta 1.0. I got a chance to drive one of these and I have to say It's a pretty sweet ride (I guess all new cars are awesome nowadays). Zero tax. Good for environment. Small engine, but 125ponies, about 50 too many for a new driver, but thank me later.

Then after two years when you've started to build some ncb and some driving confidence, sell it. Then buy something old and fun. key words to look our for "Type r" "GT" "Sport". Have fun.

As we know, penetrating the Scottish border is much like trying to leave the earth's atmosphere. You need plenty of power to manage.

The modern hatchbacks are quicker than the '69 mustang so surely that means I'm less likely to die? Also I've been pretty lucky in terms of not being killed so I think I've got a pretty good chance smile James Dean was really young when he got a Porsche and it worked well with him for Afew years
So it's aged 3 years now? Stop digging.

I think the OP may have been trolling, and what did you expect?!

What you should do is buy a camper van, and hire it out per hour. The parents will be impressed that you're so entrepreneurial. biggrin
