Awesome cars, but they have always suited the more subtle colours. My dad had a 850 T5 in metallic black/brown, which could go like the proverbial. Still a handsome looking car to this day.
Are you kidding? The T5R is all about the yellow. Sometimes wander why Volvo bothered doing other colours on it. Fine for the GLTs, GLEs and even the T5s, bit a yellow estate T5R is such an icon, you can't have it any other way! Every now and then have peek on the Euro car sales sites - values hold up even more for LHD examples (if there are any of the yellow/estate/manual combo to find that is!!).

Great colour. Pity they didn't do it 4WD. Would be great for going skiing/ mountain biking.

The later V70R will cater for that, no yellow though, sad to say.

It is also possible to put the V70 4x4 gear under an 850, a friend of mine plans to do it to his as it's a bit feisty now it's tuned to 350bhp...

19 manual cars registered, though doesn't break that down into estate or saloon. I was told there were only 6 manual estates left but how much truth is in that, I don't know.

Oddly, How Many Left also say there were none registered in 1994 but there was one and it's a manual estate too.

Great cars, superbly simple, bomb proof Swedish engineering with that element of "WTF!" thrown into the mix.

Only issue is they're not very discreet... and they're not very refined!

i'm sure this T5R is the one usually found at sainsbury's in cobham. if not, the one in cobham has a very similar reg plate.
I thought the same but I think the Cobham one is MY T5R?
that's it.

My 850 was only a T5 (albeit with the great 850R Volan wheels) and I regret selling that car SO much. I'm in the market for another 850 T5 to replace it now, and it's becoming mission impossible to find one that looks even half-decent.

(If you've got one and are considering selling, get in touch...!)

'Only a T5'? Do what ive done to my T5, White injectors, A 16T and an HLM 304 remap, Better performance than a standard T5-R and 850R for a fraction of the cost of buying one!

I've had several T5s but never an R... having said that the performance difference is only tiny and they will remap to around 260bhp no problem.

Anyway, nice "brick" like cars with decent performance and practicality. However The design is 25 years old now and I don't see them as a classic really... I couldn't spend 5k on one myself.
