I really like the look of the C class. Mercedes have really nailed the smart small car thing with the exterior look, but the inside is so naff. Not even just because it's small, it's just looks and feels cheap and st. That's a real shame, as it spoils a car I would otherwise be interested in.
Disagree. Ours hauls our family of three w/ no problem. Four would also be ok. The pre-facelift interior is utilitarian but has nice materials. Just not as stylish as others. At 5 years old, there is nearly 0 wear on anything inside. Not bad for cheap st.How about a Mondeo Titanium X 2.2 TDCI 200bhp 41k on the clock

Diesel is cheaper than petrol at the moment and sounds like it is set to stay that way for a while. You clearly liked the DS5 very much, and the face-lifted model has been launched officially which will push prices of older models down...
Why not find a another Dsport DS5 with Xenons which you missed on the first one...?

The DS5 is like driving in a cave. Visibility is a thing of the past. The quirkiness (which I love) loses its appeal pretty quick.
This. The worst thing I have ever driven. Also the interior isn't that great, nasty plastics everywhere.Edit: Just read that OP bought a DS5 and has subsequently written it off - sorry to hear that, and if you liked it then hope you find another and each to their own etc etc

Lol at like driving in a cave!
I guess I can see what you mean, it's very dark inside (certainly with the black leather) when you have the roofblinds shut. But with them open on a sunny day it's great, and at night it feels 'cocooned'.
I got another DS5 last week - a Dsport model with the 2litre HDI lump in it. Very similar to my last (sadly written off) DS5, except it now has xenon headlights that turn with the steering and the head up display.
I always wanted the xenons, but thought the HUD was a bit of a gimmick. Having driven over 1000 miles in the last week I actually find it really useful - it project in colour onto a little clear screen on the top of the dashboard - and covers speed / cruise control settings / sat nav instructions on it.
Means you can keep your eye on the road more of the time - which can only be a good thing. From a childish perspective it also looks cool when you switch the car on and the HUD screen motorises up from the top of the dash.
