Interesting...
My father and i went to a dealer event for the new XE over the weekend (good day out, free food, poked around a few XE's including an 'S' which looked brilliant!) and we got a test drive in an XF sportbrake 3.0D 'S'.
This sparked a little investigation into the model line up...
The only petrol sportbrake jaguar make is the XFR-S, everything else is diesel! Very surprising!

Looks good. Not that different to the current XF but a good update of a car that is still one of the best looking on the road.
Well done Jaguar. Really nice to see them delivering so well.
I wonder how things will change on the petrol diesel front with the anti diesel lobby out in for e now though.

That would be so very JLR to *finally* get a competitive engine in the critical 2 litre four banger diesel market on the very eve of that entire market disappearing for good.Well done Jaguar. Really nice to see them delivering so well.

Ah so it's probably the high pressure turbo version of the 3.0 V6? Good to see Jaguar copying the Germans when it comes to daft model designations.
Not turbo no.... That Chris chap in vid said 380bhp so it's the same as the V6s engine, whereas the XE S has the f type entry power. This is interesting.JonnyVTEC said:

This is interesting. What's the current obsession with having the exausts half way along the bumper. It looked good on the e90 335s because they where big but on the new one they used pea shooters and it looks crap.
Copied here by jag, the old one with the pipes Either side was better. Audi have done it on the TT and so have ford. It looks like such a after thought

Got to say I was a little bit disappointed with the rear, from behind it just looks like an Audi, that's nothing for a Jag to be proud of. The rear lights are a fairly interesting double-horseshoe but set in a big boring square slab of red plastic. Real let down IMO.
Front is good, if a little featureless. Would like to have seen some more Jag chrome detailing in the grille, maybe room for improvement on the facelift in a few years.
To me though it just looks like an enlarged XE. What I really loved about the old XF was that you could look at it and you would know what it is. Now you'll have to walk round the back to see if it says XE or XF. Another trend that Audi seems to have set with stupid identical design image across the range and for some reason everyone wants to follow zee Chermans. Disappointing with a big British saloon.

Took the words out of my mouth! I walked past a 15 plate TT yesterday and thought the exhaust looked so out of place! These are almost identical! Copied here by jag, the old one with the pipes Either side was better. Audi have done it on the TT and so have ford. It looks like such a after thought
I love the front end and interior but the rear just looks so 'Audi'
