found a picture of one like ours - I loved this car
My dad had one of these for a couple of months - It's the only car I've ever been car-sick in.

Peugeot 405 Mi16 in metallic blue. F-reg, one of the first in the country IIRC.
Drove it like he stole it too.
Lovely.

First car I remember my dad having was a brown Ford Cortina, but the one I remember most fondly was one of his many Citroen CXs. The 2.5 GTi, like this but in gold.

Is it any wonder I'm driving a C6 now?

Most of my Dads cars have been horrific....

Yeah i've no idea either.

Hyunadai in the 80's was pretty dire. So he moved on to the original Dacia duster....

Then he fell in love with....

After all those heaps then next logical choice was...

It's a hard choice between:
- Brown Volvo 340 1.4Dl
- Metallic mint green Volvo 1.7 GLT
- Dark grey Volvo 440 1.8Si (According to him it was, and I quote, 'Quite sporty')
- Black 2l Volvo V40

My dad has no interest in cars.

This is a Suntor Marina. We had two. KUN949P in White like this one.?but being a British Leyland car it went wrong so we were given KUN 855P a green one.
Aarrgh!! That's reminded me, my Dad had one too. A white one that he bought at a show and as an incentive the manufacturer gave him an oil painting which I now have. Fortunately by then I'd left home so never had to travel in it but it toured all over the UK and Germany, France, Luxembourg with my parents and two sisters. They had to take a tent with them wherever they went for my sisters to sleep in. No photos exist (thank goodness!)

Hard to decide. I'm not sure if it was the Capri 3.0L, Lancia Beta 2000 coupé, Lotus Europa, Lotus Esprit S3 (in James Bond white with slats, whilst the film was still out), Daimler Sovereign on Wolfrace slotties (back when they were en vogue), Rover SD1 3500 V8, TVR 400SE, Porsche Carrera 4 964, Subaru Impreza Prodrive (one of the first in the country at the time), Impreza STi v4 Jap Import, or Audi RS4 B7. All bought new or near-new when they were current models.
My dad has had some nice cars in the past. biggrin

I think my favourite was probably the Esprit, if I had to choose.

A close second was the Jensen Interceptor that he had as a loaner whilst the Esprit was in for a service once. Sadly he didn't like it though, even though I loved it. frown

Dad used to borrow his boss's Wolseley (with big running boards and huge frontwings) and all 7 of us used to cram into it for day trips to Southend.

Dad then bought his own car - well, a Bedford CA minibus (477MVW) that he had for quite a few years. We went everywhere in that - us seven plus aunt and uncle - and I only recall it breaking down once. I only remember that because we saw Mr. Pastry sat in his car in the same car park.

Dad then went up market and purchased an Anglia 1200 Super estate (LHK 601C) in bright red. Again, all 7 of us used to travel in that - my brother and I used to sit in the estate bit at the back. Couldn't do that now of course.

Maybe no so much the cars but the fond memories of the times.

As well as the basic family runarounds (mostly peugeot 405 estates) my dad was one for the unusual so alongside the others he had:

Early 60's (not sure of the year) Cadillac Limousine in battleship grey
1963 Buick Riviera (rusty, badly hand-painted matt black, jacked up rear and enormous rear tyres with side-exit pipes)
1976 Jaguar XJ-S V12
Daimler Major Majestic Hearse (had been used for stock car racing and was very fast)
Austin Princess Hearse
Austin Somerset

and my favourite of them all

Lancia Flaminia GT in silver (not this exact one but very similar)

Actually, my mum's car was the best.

She had a Jaguar XJ6, bronze with pepperpot alloys.

Lovely.

Astra GTE Mk2

All I remember is that it was white & the reg was B431EAK. Dad sold it when I was young as it wasn't practice with a pram, so bought a new D-reg Sierra 2.0.

He also had a Mk1 GTE but got rid of that to buy a new shape Mk2 after 6 months. Not sure if it was red or black as he had a special edition one before that in the same shape. All were bought new.

We had a succession of st cars while I was growing up;

Excrement brown Hillman Hunter DL estate
White Hillman Hunter GLs Saloon
Talbot Solara 1.6GL
Beige Fiat Uno 60S
Fiat Punto 75SX

redfacef which the White Hunter was probably the best - Holbay twin-carb engine, wood dash, rostyles, black vinyl roof and cool hooded speedo / rev counter like a Datsun 240Zyes

No car in our household. I think that's why I've grown up with such a fascination with them.

It was 1976...I'll never forget the day my Dad arrivied home with a 1974 Truimph 2500pi estate in bright red, it was awesome and fast as hell compared to the run of the mill cars of the time.
