Original XF is a gorgeous looking car, this is a gorgeous looking evolution of the model. I like it a lot.

Agreed.
I have visited Jaguar dealerships several times, driven there by my enthusiasm for the brand (we've had three in the family), yet always leave deflated by the total lack of charisma their current cars have (F- type coupe excepted)

Nice looking car!

Does anybody know why they decided to put a massive Metalheadz medallion underneath the car though? Goldie must be a big customer.

Is this not more a side effect of the normalisation of the brand?

All the things that petrol heads don't like, such as introduction of crappy little 4-banger diesels and such crud to boost sales volumes? As a consequence X-Types were a pretty common sight and so are XFs - to the point where they no longer look unusual or interesting.

It's contempt born out of familiarity I suggest - a contempt caused by their increasing sales volumes.

Looks good, evolution rather than revolution.

My dad has recently bought a older XF car, it replaces over a quarter century of Ford's.
It's a 60 plate, 3.0 Premium Luxury and it's wonderful.

It's staggeringly quiet at 70, the ride is comfy but firm and the 240 bhp is enough to annoy the German Sierra drivers.

Superb car and deserves to sell in much better volumes than it currently does.

I doubt it. On that basis, it would be the German models suffering from familiarity. It is rather more that Jaguar have chosen the middle ground, sensibly probably from a commercial point of view. That's where the buyers are. In doing so they have (again, probably deliberately) decided to move away from too much individualism... Looks good on the bottom line in the short term, but not sure that's great for the brand long-term...

My 2pence

Although not the new XF isn't a massive leap aesthetically judging by photos and videos, I for one think overall it's a very good looking car both inside and out especially in S trim.

If Ian Callums past efforts are anything to go by this should be even more handsome in the metal.

Aren't Jaguars just Fords with a different badge. That's what I read.

Surely, this is just a Granada with different lights.
That comment just got you the award for the daftest comment on PH this month..
