Looks good in silver.
From the article:
When you’re out there, stuck between the taxi's and buses and cyclists who like to chase supercars, even the financial relief the McLaren 570S brings in terms of McLaren pricing should be helpful.

OK Im not in the demographic but am a little confused about what Ron's up to here:
P1 = Million quid missile which appears rather tasty
Middle cars - bit confused as the 12C/650 and their many derivatives have all merged together in my previously car obsessive brain
The new 570 = whats the point?
Is it a crappier/slower 650 et al or something else entirely? Its got 2 seats and looks similar - how is it different?
Cheers

Ultimate Series - EG their groundbreaking cars e.g. P1 With values £500k Plus.
Super Series EG - 12C - 650s - 675LT etc. These are cars to take on Maranellos mid engine v8s with Prices around £200k or more. A lot of people feel the 650s is the car the 12c should've always been, they learnt from the 12c and made it a much better car in a very short period of time (the 12c is still amazingly good - 650s is just sharper according to people in the know). Massive bonus of no torsional loss in rigidity between coupe and spider due to carbon passenger cell, spider takes a 30KG (I think) hit for roof and mechanism
Sports Series - Their Entry level vehicle, these are to take on the Turbo/ Turbo S and new R8. Hence why they have the 540C and 570s, two different price points (125k and 140k) or there abouts from memory.
That in effect is their model structure, they're trying to be competitive at different points in the market now they're in profit they want more investment for models further down the line etc.
I personally don't find their model structure confusing at all, I just think porshce/ferrari fanboys that dislike mclaren do as most of them don't really see mclaren as a competitor which I find highly naive.
I will be very interested to see how the 675LT does against a Speciale. and the 570s/540c do against the 911 turbo and R8 - possibly Merc GTS. It won't be as practical as the 911 though so no doubt that will be in for some criticism - but the Macca has a carbon tub (albeit altered to that in the 650s, it also has a conventional suspension set up)
I think Mclaren are just trying to improve revenue streams and having 3 tiers does this well for them - they say they aren't going to do an SUV though (dig at porshce and lamborghini)... Id like to see them make a F12/Aventador Rival so a GT car with a Proper boot in it, Front engined rear wheel drive would be cool but I really can't see them doing that.
Hope this makes Mclarens models a bit more transparent to you?
