I don't think he's a bad driver and I bet many like me couldn't do better, especially second lap out! Cars a complete animal and he's got guts driving it like that. Especially on such a tight, fast, slightly damp track with little run off. I liked the vids anyway. smile

I went out the lap after for a ride with him... It doesn't show in this video, but he was a very fast driver and I was totally taken aback with the whole experience. It's easy to sit behind your screen and criticise driving, but the reality of the matter it's a 1000hp rwd car which was at the Nurburgring in patchy damp conditions and he was still REALLY pushing on IMO

I was in the car, I've had many many high speed passenger rides in my career and this was the number one experience I've ever had, over P1, Veyron Supersport driven by a Le Mans Winner etc thumbup

How cool do you have to be to pull off elbow patches on a sweat shirt?

Cool enough to laugh when your mate gets a tank slapper on in your LaFerrari clearly...
Pretty sure marks n sparks sell sweat shirts with elbow patches. Instant cool, and at a very reasonable price.

I'm not sure why it's being called a slow lap... Easily sub 8 imo if the messing about was taken out of it, so a minute off the time set on questionable tyres by a pro with an empty track? Not bad considering he was probably finding out what he used to consider straights now had apexes/i (sp).

Looks heaps of fun and reasonably commited! If only I had the choice between the 3 hypermegacars lol.

Genuine question, why is the steering wheel square? Is it "because race car" or is there some other explanation? I've only driven one vehicle with a non-round steering wheel and it was a mates Westfield (flat bottom steering wheel) on an airfield hooning day. I hated it because when the back stepped out and you had to start grabbing opposite lock, the flat bit kept catching me out as I was reaching for where a round wheel would be and finding nothing wobble

Clearly knows what he's doing, though I bet he wishes he wasn't Italian sometimes when he can't stop himself taking one hand off the wheel to gesticulate to his mate! Or to twiddle with the manettino, come to that. Kudos to him, he's living the life.

Yeah soe of this guys other videos he is not trying to slide about and he looks a quick driver. Some of them he is nearing the cars limits I thought.

It was maybe the RS6 one or the GT3 one.

More like 4000kms with few track events and a full day at Spa the day before...btw, it was the rear brake pads gone, mainly because of the wet day at Spa with controls switched on most of the time!

The man is clearly a hero:
Buys LaFerrari, canes it around the Ring, powerslides, videos it so fellow petrol heads can enjoy it too.

Then lets his mate have a go.

Come on, if you don't like this, mumsnet is waiting for you...
