So are the Fiesta ST's really too firm then? Heard a few mentions of aching backs..
I don't think firm is the word, hard is a better description... I don't get back ache in mine, but then I am far too young for that. If the road is smooth then they're fine, but potholes and ruts are a big no no, while speed bumps should be taken at sub 15mph to be honest. Take one normal hatchback, make it tall, wallowy, and atrocious to look at. Then make it heavy, stick an uninspiring engine in it, a few st badges. Hey presto you've got the new Juke 'RS'. Anyone buying this is telling the rest of the motoring world "I have no idea, and my wife makes the car buying decisions." Just fking revolting

I thought these had a massive turbo engine and 4wd ;(
I would have assumed, looking at it, a very blown 2.0l engine producing about 300bhp and definitely AWD. It's the worst example of overselling by the badge!

Hm. I don't know whether I like it.
I don't dislike mind you.
I'd never buy one though, not unless I was a dogger who wanted a nippy car.
Yep, that's what Mrs Tankman wanted a dog and something nippy to drive it in. She let me loose in the Nismo (not RS) in Welsh Wales. It was a hoot in the cold and damp of the Black Mountains and we had a lot of fun in it. The dog was not with us I hasten to add. I don't dislike mind you.

Hated the Juke when I first saw them though, despised and detested them. Obviously I am not allowed to now and, even if I could, I probably wouldn't.

There you go - Driven: Nissan Juke-RQuite a nice looking car in my opinion. Not for everyone, but choice is good.
However, I couldn't disagree more with this;
"...while the shift itself has a distinctly Renaultsport feel to it: quite long in throw but accurate and satisfying, gears changing as quick as you can move the lever."
Renaultsport manual gearboxes are notoriously poor. Neither accurate nor satisfying, and you'd be lucky if it lasted a year without imploding.

I've just picked up one of these on a 2yr Lease to replace my M5 Touring.
I was looking for something 'left field' as anything sensible would pale into insignificance compared to the M5.
The Nismo Joke (as my Dreadful Mates have christened it) is amusing around town and whilst making progress on the open road (short gearing means it is in its power band in 6th gear at 60-80mph).
It Torque-Steers like nothing else (and I've had several turbo Saabs!) which its entertaining at first as it makes the car seems 'lively' but in the wet it might catch people unaware.
For Good or Ill, I bumped into my Gay Neighbour in the street last week and he was very enthusiastic about the Juke, whereas he's never mentioned any of my other cars.
A perfect comment.... you should work for Nissan PR......I was looking for something 'left field' as anything sensible would pale into insignificance compared to the M5.

Too slow for you?
I just don't see why anyone would spend that sort of money on one of these when there are cars that are either a better hot hatch, or better "boggo" family car. They utilize an SUV style, but what does that add? Nothing, not even real space over its rivals, IMO, apart from it being tall, which diddles it in the corners. What I guess I'm saying, is, buy a Focus ST.
