Will probably get flamed for this but it's opinion based right?
I think P-Jay's post from a couple of pages back booted that idea out.
Ah I'm far too self absorbed to bother reading other peoples comments laugh

Well I saw a really clean looking one of these earlier and couldn't believe it was 10 years old:
Might have worked had there not been two generations since, although IMO the latest Astra suffers the same malaise as the Mk2.5 FIAT Punto where the facelift car looks older and less attractive than the preceding model.

I -- in my opinion -- think that on some modern sized wheels, it wouldn't look out of place next to the current 911 range. Yes the uber models are far more extravagantly and flamboyantly designed, but that doesn't really reflect the mainstream model line from Porsche.
Again, your either blind or stuck in the 90's if you genuinely believe anyone, other than you could look at a 959 and think "Yes that's a 2016 model".

If you think it looks 'ancient', that is of course your prerogative.
I'll be with the 99.9% of non cowboy-hat wearing, normal people who think that the 959 looks exactly what it is, an 80/90's super car.

2004/2005 Liberty/Legacy.

Somehow Subaru's seem to get uglier as they get more modern (although I quite like the Levorg)

Literally one of the funniest threads I've read on here!

Back to topic... I don't think it's been mentioned yet but the 2002 model Nissan Cube in my opinion if brought out today would look brand new.

Only the 3 door version though strangely, the 5 doors look hideous.
I agree on this. Pillars, headlights, wheels and detailing all look pretty new to me.
Like all cars it's slightly dependent on spec. A gold Club on steel wheels and no bodykit looks more tired and elderly than a nice colour SRi X Pack like that one.

I prefer the five door shape although I hated it for years and preferred the three door.

How is that fresh? it looks as old as it is.

Put it next to the new MX5, form shape proportions all very similar. All IMO naturally.

I agree with this. I was really suprised when I first saw one on the roads, and felt like it was a bit of a step backwards. However, I feel that it will come into it's own in coming years and will look more modern as time passes - weird thing to say I know.

What is it? Passat? Phaeton?

Looks like there's a lot going on out the back behind the rear wheels.

Not very elegantly proportioned.

It's the American market Passat I think. (Different to the one sold in Europe)

I suggested one of these in another thread, originally launched in 2003:-

(Infiniti FX35)
Big wheels, high waistline, thick pillars, thin light cluster.

I think we have a winner.
It seems to be made in the same mold as the Macan and dare I even say the 2016 Masser Levante. Staggering its 13 years old when you consider how dated its rivals from back then look - X5, RR, ML etc.
I saw an Infiniti in Spain years before they came to the UK.

Ahh I think the poster above is right that it's not the uk one, although it is similar - the uk one might be worse off...
