Some body cut and Lambo up and stuck a Mustang body on it.

It is a very expensive, not all that funny joke really, even thought the world wont really miss the odd 360.

Unless it's a damaged 360 you have, you're either trolling (quite well by the looks of it) or you're not wired up right.

I had a quick go at mocking up the first design, I think it's looking pretty good? This ones also got a vauxhall corsa 1.2 engine with over 900 hp thanks to a drilled airbox and taking the rear seats out.

Be careful, you might have a few issues come MOT time, and i know BiB frown upon fake MR2 fezzes, so God knows what they'd think about it this way round!

I'd rather have the 355/2CV van.

Hmm, I hadn't thought about MOT... But MR2->360's must get around it somehow so 360->MR2's should. Perhaps I've got a few things to learn from speaking to the kit guys.

It should have more BHP than standard with all the lighter panels too, this really has to be done!

I don't see why it'd be all that expensive, and given the Lambo's the only one people have heard of before, the rarity will protect the value versus those that think it'd mean "destroying"(!) a ferrari.

You own a Ferrari but clearly know very little about cars. Your comments and questions are similar to what i'd expect a 15yr old to ask. Reducing weight increases bhp? All the gear and no idea / troll!!

Some tuned MR2's are as fast as a 360 so it completley defeats the object anyway. Wierd!

Depends on your perception of expensive, a 360 starts at 45 grand for an intact one, something damaged but viable to convert may be 25/30, plus the cost to make MR2 panels fit, the 360 is physically bigger with a different wheelbase, it is like 12 inches shorter, 8 inches shorter wheelbase and ten inches narrower.

The existing Ferrari replicas based on MR2's use panel kits made to fit and MR2, the other way round they dont exist so there would be an enormous amount of metalwork and I suspect that the result would look like a badly proportioned MR2, the Ferrari kits sort of work on an MR2 if there isnt a real one nearby.

Depends whether you are doing it yourself, but I reckon its a 40 - 50 grand project, as for rarity, yes, it will be, but then some things are rare for a reason, I can sort of see the appeal but it would be a braver man than I that spends all that to get an MR2 Ferrari hybrid, I suspect 50 grand into a 360 would perhaps, long term be a better return but then the world needs people to do the odd mad thing, go for it !

Soooo.... Let me get this right.

You have a real Ferrari 360, which you want to chop up, fit second hand MR2 panels to, fit an MR2 interior to make what you think would make a good sleeper...

I'm calling custard on the first part, if we get past that, maybe then we run through all of the reasons why this is a stupid idea.

I'm surprised at all the negativity! I can definitely confirm I'm not 15.

I don't understand "calling custard" but assume it's not a compliment...

It's not wrecking the car because it'd all be unchanged underneath, just making it look ordinary

yes

(Explanation for OP - you post a picture of the car with a packet of custard on it to prove that you have the car and haven't just pulled a photo from the web)

Meanwhile I'm trying to think of a more mad idea, what could we convert a Veyron into....

No, do it, I want to see it, we need daft ideas, just not sure anyone sane would drop 50 grand on it.

"Calling Custard" is invoking a solemn and ancient challenge to prove ownership of a given vehicle, in a similar manner to gaining proof that a hostage is still alive by displaying them with the days edition of a newspaper but the medium in this scenario is Birds Custard power, I believe other brands are available and valid but you can be accused of "Being Council" when not being able to provide what is regarded as the king of powdered dessert sauce mixes.

Basically its a bit of an in joke, as is the Council thing, Red Bull, Ambwilans, Woosh Parrot and many more.

Im going now, I fear I may have already said too much....

Are you literally saying take a photo of the car with a packet of custard on it to prove you own it?! Why is anyone questioning that, I haven't had any of the work done yet!

Major issue in any case being that the car isn't here right now, and I don't have any custard in the house anyway!

Fantastic plan OP, although surely the ultimate street sleeper would be a Zonda cunningly disguised as a Granada.....there is a man out there with some experience of Granada/Zonda trickery that could probably help.......hehe
