Why do people always want to screw/exploit a situation - so, you thought you'd try to steal £18k from someone? Nice.

Another way of approaching it: perhaps just need to get the paperwork signed?!
Steal no, my sister is a decent woman, my issue is they have settled the finance but don't have the replacement vehicle they promised, they cannot commit to a date having promised March delivery, they have obviously tried to fool Honda UK in order to achieve targets. With all due respect JohnnyBv8 there appears to be only one dishonest party here.

It's your integrity that is being called into question, not your sister's.

In your post you indicated that your initial thought was to 'walk away' and see whether they managed to claw the £18k back off you/your sister. This doesn't sound particularly honest to me.

As per my post, I think the more reasonable thing to do is to accept that the dealer has perhaps surprisingly not got his paperwork in order, and push them to confirm a date asap. If you have the March date in writing (not sure whether you do, from what you say), and your sister is feeling hard done by, maybe see if she can negotiate with the dealer to throw in something to compensate for the delay - she can always make the point that he's a bit exposed, she's doing the right thing.....quid pro quo etc etc.
