A phone charger cable and USB adaptor thingy
There's usually a bottle of water in there

That's it in the cabin basically - man I'm boring.

Serious answer, toolbox, rope, gaffer tape, cable ties, torch, first aid kit, glow sticks, a few liters of water, an ice box (sometimes filled with beer / food).

To be fair, i don't drive in Europe.

Other serious answer, the Rope, Gaffer Tape and cable ties aren't just for tying up victims before throwing them in the back ......
You forgot amoxycillan...

BOOT;
Trolley jack
extendable wheel brace
Usual space saver,
4 x hi vis jackets of various thickness
1 thick body warmer. (If you've ever broken down in the middle of the night on a motorway, you'll know why)
1 6 ton tow strap with shackles
Heavy duty jump leads.
First aid kit
INSIDE CAR;
sun glasses
Spare change
Spare old pay-as-u-go mobile phone, always plugged in.
spare bulbs,
Various phone charger leads
Pair reading glasses
Map book
Pens & Pencils, (pens often let you down in freezing cold weather)
Small notepad
Ice scraper.
Large Maglight torch
Small LED torch (Cig lighter socket rechargable)
Microbore cloth.
CD's
Dash camera
Satnav

And something that no-one else has yet mentioned, Scanned copies of MOT / Driving licence / insurance (Including details of who to phone in case of accident & recovery needed) [I deal with so many drivers after RTC's who don't even know who they're insured with]
My breakdown recovery membership card is kept in my wallet.

I've only used the trolley jack etc once for myself when I got a puncture, although I've used them, the coats and tow strap several times for assisting others

Foot pump, a £3 Halfords one which has outlasted all others, including £30 "Heavy Duty" ones. A jerry can and wheel brace.
Sometimes on longer journeys I'll bring a trolley jack with me.
