Bearing in mind they all share the same tub, basic engine & layout, what's the USP for this model?
Lightness presumably?
Cheapness.

Given it's about £100k over my budget, I may settle for the pink chairs instead.

Finally, finally.

McLaren design team has come into its own. Now we have coherent shapes
front to back to interior and it is actually the "cheapest" model, which should be halfway
attainable for middle aged blokes, who are only middle wealthy.

Show me the Spider version, already!

Isn't USP the price, to make it direct competition with R8 and 911? Other than that it seems to be a detuned, slightly different looking 650 (presumably with different suspension so that they can claim it really is a different model).

Why are these pics of such a low resolution? It's like rubbing grit in my eyes.

I'm getting a bit lost now, where does this slot into the McL range? In fact what is the range these days?

They all look the same to me and names don't help!

It's the current model of the new 575T they'll be releasing in about 6 months time iirc.

Isn't this going to entice a lot of buyers away from the 650? It's a bit cheaper and a bit less powerful and doesn't look all that different.
Where is the 1200kg 400bhp £100k McLaren I thought they were going to make?
This. This car is like the 12C replacement but slightly cheaper and less powerful? They seem to be just selling the same car, with different body shells, in different states of tune?
It makes this car look like good value but the 650s not so much...strange.

I personally think the exterior is lovely, and probably the best of the 3 series'.

I Agree, the interior does look a little Spartan, but im sure it will do everything and more I realistically want from a car like this. Sure it will look better in person, and without Orange. Shall we just go driving?!

well done McLaren, im bored of Negativity!
And I'm completely the opposite, thinks the interior looks great. Ho hum, horses for courses. Should be incredible to drive!

Matt
So you think its the worst looking Matt? Will be interested to see the dimensions of the car to see how much different the tub and associated body is! Think this looks proportionally great

I didn't mean I disliked the interior, just think they tend to look better in person. Actually with the tan leather shown later, it looked a lot better, although the tan is not to my taste, think soe light colours in there will be the winner.

The other question, is straight line performance 650 --> 570 0-60 is 0.2 quicker, 1.1 sec for 0-124. With Normo's driving, is this worth 100K+ Squids?

Will be interesting if we could get some comparisons of the whole range, same day, same track, same drivers between the models of all levels of the Mclarens?! Thinking the difference between sports and super may be minimal?

I agree think this will be incredible to drive, and possible best $$ to Drive ratio!?

Considering they started with a blank sheet, McL are making a pigs ear of the model line up.

If people on a car forum are getting confused....

It's strange one. Considering you can't buy the P1, would you really walk past this for the 650s? for an extra 80hp that's probably offset by weight savings?
This looks better, will be cheaper to buy, cheaper to run and it will be 95% as quick.

I think this is hideous compared to the 650S and 675lt. A dopey grin front bumper, the lights look europa and the side intakes look out of place and misshapen.

570, 650, 675 - fairly clear model hierarchy from McLaren. Can you please clarify the Porsche range which seems to have multiple versions of something called both 991 and 911 and massive component sharing with the multiple versions of the Boxster/Cayman.

I think that looks fantastic both inside and out, like a concept car dah but i suppose that's the way car design is heading. looks fantastic in silver too, normally you have to opt for a wacky lurid range of colours to make the car stand out

I'd like a 1100kg 300bhp £75k McLaren.

But I see what you mean, the spec and price does seem to have crept up.

Pistonheads celeb APOLO1 from what I've read.
Whoever it was, they looked nervous. The Huracan driver had a lovely light grip at 10-2 whereas the 918 was tight 11-1.

Not saying I'd be any better by the way (although I bet I would wink)

Are the numbers just power outputs of the same model? Is the first number a model designation like BMW? Which cars are still in production and which have been superseded?

I know some people try to make the Porsche line up sound complicated for comedy value but I understand it pretty easily,

Cayman- divided into engine size, sub divided by special editions
911- divided into engine size, sub divided by special editions
Panamera- divided into engine size, sub divided by special editions

Although it helps that a Cayman doesn't just look like a 911 with big bumpers.

It's not like the people who will buy these won't have a clue what they are buying. 3 models, each priced differently, with different power outputs and technical specs. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

I'll just leave the current 911 (991) model selection here.

911 Carrera, 911 Carrera S, 911 Carrera Cabriolet, 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, 911 Carrera 4, 911 Carrera 4S, 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, 911 Carrera GTS, 911 Carrera 4 GTS, 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, 911 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet, 911 Targa 4, 911 Targa 4S, 911 Targa 4 GTS, 911 Turbo, 911 Turbo S, 911 Turbo Cabriolet, 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, 911 GT3, 911 GT3 RS.

+ additional performance packs that can be specced on each model to increase power.

Tan interior shoots really help the cause.

I see an Evora from the the front with shades of i8 from the back. Lovely looking thing.
