None of that is an issue apart from the tyre.

It may well be able to be repaired.

this is the quote i got to fix the issues nearly touching 1k!!

nearside front lower suspension arm has slight play in a ball joint (2.4.g.2) Replacement £150
offside front lower suspension arm has slight play in a ball joint (2.4.g.2) Replacement £150
rear registration plate deteriorated but not likely to be misread (6.3.1d) Replacement £10
nail in offside front tyre Needs to be removed and the tyre plugged. If that doesn;t work, new tyre £100.
under-trays fitted obscuring some underside components Brake pipes could be rusty. 300
engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay front discs lipped
Needs new front discs and pads: about £250
You will probably find the ball joints have a bit of life left, but who wants to drive around in a car with loose suspension.
The tyre is probably repairable but only if the nail is in the main tread.
The undertrays probably don't hide anything but are you happy with risk?....
The discs are a pretty common advisory and could last for years but it depends on how bad they are.

If the worse comes to the worse and you can afford to fix that lot then go for it, no £2000 car is going to be perfect. On the other hand if you can't then walk away......

Use it as a bargaining tool and then buy the bits yourself, the brakes are like 50 quid for disks and pads at the front and easy to fit, £250 is a top dollar.

Brake pipes could be rusty, unlikely if its had a cover over it.

Ball joints, suspect it needs two new lower arms to be perfect and that is £100 or so plus fitting, which is a piece of piss.

Number plate, get that done for a tenner, cars look rubbish when the plates are going manky

Any used car will have some play and wear in its systems, there is no way a grands worth in that lot though

Spooky - read this last week on the subject of undertrays. You can certainly ignore those two advisories!

https://mattersoftesting.blog.gov.uk/giving-the-ri...
only ignore them if you are happy they are not hiding anything. As with anything, go in with your eyes open wink
Let me rephrase that - as per the MOT advisory the trays COULD be hiding something. But they could have been hiding something from the day it left the factory! The advise to testers is now not to put this as so many cars have the undertrays fitted. So I certainly wouldn't be paying a garage to remove them and have a look underneath just because they were noted as an advisory.

Sounds like pretty standard wear and tear items but seeing as they're an advisory on a MOT done 8 months ago I'd imagine they may need sorting quite soon (suspension play and brake parts). The tyre will have been changed/plugged very quickly after that MOT last year I imagine. I doubt anyone in their right mind would happily keep driving with a nail in a tyre!
