This is supposed to be a site for people who are interested in cars.
Calm down m8! There's no getting away from the fact that this is an honest but unremarkable car with some unremarkable mods at a ridiculous price. The same car can be had with the same performance and lower mileage for a lot, lot less if someone with half an ounce of common sense is willing to see past the tenuous motorsport heritage. People who are genuinely interested in cars would know this. This is supposed to be a site for people who are interested in cars.
IMO this is no better than the 'Special Editions' cars that have designer brand logos on them.
The reason this car has the performance it does is because the standard engine (which is bought in in a crate) already had the tuning potential. Neither Vauxhall nor 888 deserve the credit for what is supposed to be the USP of this car.

Apart from cars with designer brand logos don't usually have lots of performance goodies on them :Edited by r11co on Wednesday 1st April 14:26
Engine Remap
18" Team Dynamics Alloy Wheels
335mm alcon front disc brakes with four-piston callipers / astra vxr rear brakes
Eibach springs and VXR shocks.
Recaro sports seats (in the case of mine pictured)
Vxr RARB
And all for £120 more than a standard car ?
Yeah just the same as a "special addition" with a designer logo on (or racing team logo in this case)

New for sure. But we are talking about a 40-50% premium (running to several thousand pounds) for this particular car over a lower mileage standard one. You could upgrade the boggo one with new parts to the same spec, fewer miles, better condition and still have money in the bank, so the only justification for the premium for this car is the 888 connection.
I repeat - the car in the OP is not a bad car. It is an overpriced car.

I can see what you're saying, the cost of all the upgrades (when new) was around £3500, for the equivalent today (plus fitting etc.) it would be more than that I'm sure. But we are talking about a 40-50% premium for this particular car over a lower mileage standard one. We are currently trying to find replacement front disks and pads for my dad's 888 and it looks like it's going to cost an eye watering sum of money.

Hello all, I have been a long time lurker on PistonHeads but never posted anything. Just thought that I would share some more pictures of the 888 that I owned for a year (my dad now runs it).
Feel free to ask any questions.
1. Looks smart, I like these mini homologation specials (320 si, A4 DTM et al)Feel free to ask any questions.
2. Have you learnt to reverse park since owning it?

My son has a VXR. I have driven it. If you don't think a VXR has bad torque steer you don't know what torque steer is. My remapped Octavia is nothing like as bad.
And as owner (nearly 90k in) I and DanielSan disagree. I've not found torquesteer an issue, including on track.NickColl89 said:
