Look - it 's bad driving but nothing unusual. I doubt if it would have been posted at all if a GTR had not been involved . Did the OP experience the teeniest regret that there wasn't a shunt-nobody hurt , bent metal galore- so as to indulge himself even more , witness a drama unfolding before him sort of thing ? Dash cam is fine if you are crash for cashed etc but this sort of small minded holier than thou voyeurism speaks volumes more for the dash cammer than the drivers doesn't it ? I don't condone the moronic behaviour there, but what the **** was that stupid imbecile doing in lane 3?

What exactly is the matter with these people?

Either they're dozing off, in which case they shouldn't be driving, or else they don't understand the basic rules of the road, in which case they shouldn't be on the road.

You mean apart from observing the Zafira indicating right?
Amazing, isn't it.
We seem to have a couple of posters who's observation isn't all that...

I would like to have a party with the GTR driver. It would involve a brick hitting his head a few times.

I genuinely don't know why people think that aggressive and dangerous conduct on the road is acceptable. Conduct like that on the street would not be tolerated.

I'd hate to drive the roads you do. I've done a lot of motorway miles over the last twenty years and I can only recall a handful of incidents where I've witnessed anything that bad in person.

If I was the driver of the Insignia and I had seen the GTR approaching quickly behind me then I would have started indicating the moment I passed the camera car and then started to move into lane 2 as the Zafira moved into lane 1.

GTR driver should have his licence taken away.

I think we've all seen driving like this (how many times has someone sped past you and then have to slap on the anchors as the traffic in lane 3 didn't magically disappear as they approached?").

GTR Driver = Knob
Audi Driver = Knob (FFS it's a GTR.....)

Insignia Driver = I doubt he'd been in lane 3 for miles as they'd have undertaken him already at that speed differential. At that speed it would have been a pretty grim stack.

On another note, is this footage able to be used by the finest in the land to charge for reckless driving or driving without due care and attention? I'm guessing it couldn't be used to prosecute for speeding?

Just curious.

Why move into a lane that's not clear?!?
The Zafira might change his mind...

The lane was being cleared by the Zafira.

The Insignia seemed far enough behind the Zafira to avoid any conflict if the Zafira did change him mind before I'd established myself in lane 2.

Insignia did absolutely nothing wrong in that video, how can anyone dispute that? Are they looking at a different clip or something?

Undertaking I don't have a problem with in most cases but why brake test someone, that is inexcusable in any situation, once you've got past just clear off.

Because apparently to some on here, if you spend more than .002 seconds in L3 when L2 is empty and there's a slightly unpredictable car in L1 indicating right and weaving about, you should be tailgated. And undertaken. And brake-tested. And bummed. And shot. For being a dangerous driver.

I get the impression that some people think that the use of overtaking lanes for, you know, overtaking, is an unreasonable impediment to their desire to spend their entire journey in lane 3 at warp speed.

During the manoeuvre the Zafira also starts to move and indicate right. There is uncertainty as to his intentions.

I really cant beleive some of the replies on here slating the Insignia.

I know its "cool" on here to hate lane hoggers (i do myself) but the insignia is not hogging the lane.
I may have shadowed the zafira into lane 2 as he was moving into lane 1 but i wouldnt expect my wife for instance to do so.
She would, and rightly so, wait for lane two to become free (either zafira moving into lane 1 or until a decent braking gap is available before pulling in behind him).
If i saw the right indicator come on in the zafira i would stay put in lane 3 until i knew what he was planning.

The insignia was doing the right thing in this situation. I'm sure we all like a blast up a motorway from time to time doing silly speeds but you must be even more considerate to other motorists when doing this, more so that being sat at 70. You must understand that you will be on their tail before they have seen you coming and you must alter your driving style (maybe not your speed) to accommodate this. I'm not having a go at the GTR's speed, just his attitude.

I fear for the safety of young/inexperianeced/nerous drivers with s like this on the road. Anyone defending the GTR and the Audi needs to give their head a shake.

What the neighbourhood watch that gathers info on car and motorbike thefts and helps prevent old people getting ripped off- no doubt that's "grassing" too?

I'm glad we don't live in the totally "you're on your own" badass world you want - maybe you should move to Compton LA (although sadly for you they've even cleaned that up a bit).

that was very very close to being a fatal accident.
The only chance of that causing a fatality is me having a heart attack from laughing too hard at comments like this.
My cousin was killed in very similar circumstances about 10 years ago. He would have driving the Insignia equivalent (he was in a ford escort and an Audi S6).

His car flipped at 75 mph and he sustained head inuries that killed him.

Not really that funny.
