Where to after R35 GTR?
Discussion
I don't own a GTR but I've managed to pax in a few as well as other cars that'll boardly be in the same price range as a second hand GTR.
You're not going to get any faster for the money, that's a given. What you could certainly get a little bit more luxury in your life without sacrificing too much in the way of performance.
I'd be thinking along the lines of a AM DB9 or Bentley CGT.
Then there's the obvious choice of a 911 turbo.
What sort of budget are we looking at?

I moved to an S8 and when I owned the two together I hardly drove the GTR as the S8 made it seem silly. Apart from turn in and body control on a smooth surface I prefer everything. Much better for equipment, refinement, ride, space, engine, gearbox, traction, bad weather, service intervals, anonymity.
I got the GTR in 2009 hoping it would be like a refined Evo. It wasn't, it didn't have the traction of the Evo except on a dry, smooth surface, the ride was terrible and it was as noisy as a supermini at speed.

Budget would be a hypothetical one as this is just from a conversation me and my mate had so will say £60 - £70kYou're not going to get any faster for the money, that's a given. If I was to change personally I wouldn't go for the "luxury" options, but they are both very nice cars!

Strange, never driven an older GTR, but the MY13 is well equipped IMO (I don't feel like I need anything else), well refined (unless you want to be picky), fairly comfortable (done several long distance trips and never felt like my back was breaking), space wise in the rear its not great, but enough boot room for most things, engine is brilliant, gearbox is brilliant, not had much issues with traction, service every year/12k miles. Something big power with RWD so you can actually have some fun getting it to move around underneath you, either that or an atom and a runaround.
Like the idea of an Atom and a runaround, wonder how atoms are to run on a track (consumable wise). If not something like a Cayman GTS would be high on the list. Or a lottery win and a 458 Speciale would be pretty sweet lol. Well if its any help I run a race car with the same engine as the atom, a Honda K20a unit. I've run it for a season now and its only ever warmed up then driven off the limiter the whole time I must have put a good 20 hours on it this season, thats 20 hours at either full throttle or braking!...so far all it has needed is oil and the odd check to make sure all is good. Not only this but we've got 3 other cars also racing the K20a and they've all been the same level of reliability.
When you think about it, it really is an amazing little power unit! I'd have no concerns about running an Atom with a K20a in it.
When I move somewhere else an atom is going on the shopping list.

I don't know if this helps but after my GT-R I didn't actually feel compelled to get anything 'interesting'. I owned a 996 GT3 for a bit after but didn't drive it much. I had a 996 C2 for the commute and changed that to an E91 320D which does the job better. Not sure anything (that I could afford) will beat the GT-R for pace so I don't feel the need to try. Maybe just losing my mojo. I've found it much easier to own boring cars after having a GT-R - desperately un-PH! I'll fall across something nice I really want at some stage i'm sure. Le Mans adds a bit of pressure though.
