Do it properly and have a 5.5? Also saves you a few quid to put towards tax/fuel etc ;-)

That is a good one it's the better engine 82bhp more is not to be sniffed at but the OP is trying to keep costs down & £500 per year Tax is a kicker.

So did you get a decent quote?
Yes! Amazingly £300-£350 Approx - pretty good i thought. For me the time I have spent researching has proved a point - insurance & even tax wont be a barrier to getting something pretty cool...when i have enough cash saved up

For financial reasons I think I am chickening out 'for now' - I just wont have enough of a slush fund in case anything expensive happens & there's a fair chance it would & the cost of MB parts is not the same as the cost of Honda parts

Doesn't help that my car is THE Most reliable car in the last decade according to warranty direct!!

- noticed the seller of that CLK500 has put it up £1k too!

For now I'm getting a twin pipe stainless steel exhaust made for my car (due for replacing) & may splash out on some new alloys but once I've got the funds I know what I'm looking for...

I want it to look like this :-

Not keen on paying £500 tax tho so maybe a CLK500 that looks like that if i cld find one

thx for all your help!

Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 2dr [ Want. But it's going to break isn't it...Nothing great about being broken down even if it looks amazing]
No. It won't. Just make sure it's well maintained , has had the belts done on schedule and bank for occasional wishbone replacement. Like 147/156, from which it draws most of its parts, the GT eats suspension parts. But they're not expensive from specialists and you'll have one of the greatest engines ever made at any price. Try and find one with the Q2 diff fitted, though, ideally from a fellow enthusiast.

All the n/a V8's are starting to rise due to them becoming rarer & good examples will start to appreciate, so don't leave it to long. As for huge bills there really aren't many major ones to worry about.
