I wondered where all the Rover 214 drivers went.
They got into Peugeots.

He's never been over thirty MPH, so he's obviously a safe driver.
As long as there is absolutely nothing around him.

I've no doubt he couldn't use his blower after hitting you up the Aris
He'd have been all over the place with nerves.
Lucky he wasn't in something from the sixties, like an old landcrab, or a big old jag, that couldn't slow down half as quickly, and really would've ploughed on in.

But then, who is expecting a car to be completely stopped in the middle of a (seemingly) clear road?

I'm staggered by the driving of that helmet in the 406, how he didn't see the BMW is beyond me!

The bloke in the Pug probably has eye sight issues, did the Police attend?
If not I'd be showing them the footage pronto before he kills somebody.
+1 to that. As crappy as it is the OAP needs to have his/her license taken off them and made to do a re-test. There's no two ways about it that's way below the acceptable level of driving standard to be in charge of a motor vehicle. What happens when they drive past a school and some kid runs out?

The issue is not so much that its a Peugeot but that its a sub £1000 car therefore indicating that the driver is a stig (not the TG racing driver sort) and is probably of low intelligence which I strongly suspect was the biggest factor in the collision.
How very ironic. Hopefully you aren't serious, but I'll reply anyway because I'd imagine that there are people who actually think this way.

Whilst we're jumping to conclusions and making base assumptions about the car value to intelligence ratio, earlier today, I encountered the not-so-careful owner of a 2014 BMW M5 who almost caused a 70mph pile up on the M62 by driving across my path from lane three to lane one in order to not miss his exit.

Clearly, because his car is of high value (and it was lovely), he was obviously a high functioning member of MENSA with far superior intelligence to the rest of us. A well considered manoeuvre I thought.

Plus, seeing as you are seemingly dim, I'll point this out to you: the old gent driving may have been just like lots of other older people that I know of who have bought a car when it was brand new, and kept it, because they've no need to replace it.

Notice how I said 'may'. You can't make assumptions based on half a story.

Bad news OP; hope this gets resolved in your favour.

Unlikely to have ABS on that. nerd The modified front end definitely looks aftermarket.

Must admit, I would of driven around the obstruction.
Whenever I have to stop like that, my eyes are in the rear view mirror waiting for some numpty to hit me.

Me too.

I'd much prefer to have driven into the truck than be rear ended.

In quite a few countries it becomes the poorer persons fault by default. So in your situation it would have been your fault for being in his way hehe

The theory goes that the rich person would never have anything against the poor person whereas the poor person would and is more likely to get into a position of causing an issue. A bit like accelerating when being overtaken.

Would make life easier for richer people though as this country is rife with envious people.

What a stupid statement, why would you rather be liable for an accident than not?

Pass the obstruction on the nearside? It looks like there was no pavement.

In hindsight, yes I could have pulled over to the left and just driven around it .... But the truck was stopping too and one of us was getting out to shift it and I took the decision to stop. If i'd have pulled over to the left the Pug would still have driven into the back of me.

Sorry to see this, having put plenty of time and money into my E46 M3 over the last year I'd be equally gutted to suffer a similar fate.

The video now has it's own thread on M3Cutters and I'm sure people would be happy to help out with 'real world' sale prices / values if it helps with your claim;

Best wishes for a speedy and satisfactory resolution.
